Sabitlenmiş Tweet

I deleted my previous tweet so I could add more sources and address this more comprehensively. My background is in management and organizational work, so when something doesn't sit right with me operationally, I tend to look it up. This one has been sitting with me for a while, so please bear with me and I hope you take time to read this a little:
A lot of this starts with understanding what media actually is. Legitimate media comes with editorial standards, named journalists, institutional accountability, and a corrections policy. Not just a label you assign yourself. Academia draws a clear distinction between this and citizen journalism, which is what documenting events without formal training or editorial oversight actually falls under, valid and valuable, but a fundamentally different category. Even paparazzi and tabloids, for all their bad reputation, still answer to publishers and operate within editorial frameworks. Fan photographers are a different category entirely, and academia actually recognizes that, with fan studies treating it as its own well researched field.
That distinction matters a lot when it comes to how event access actually works in fan spaces. Fanbases honestly function a lot like volunteer run NGOs, managing limited resources, coordinating volunteers, and distributing access under real operational constraints. Research on NGO coordination notes that resource constraints make it genuinely difficult to balance transparency with day to day operations. When slots are limited, time sensitive, and come with specific requirements, decisions have to be made quickly and practically. Access extended as a courtesy beyond the original scope is a privilege, not a guaranteed right. And how that process is communicated is where things get more complicated.
Transparency is more nuanced than people give it credit for. There is a well documented concept called the "transparency paradox," which argues that complete transparency has to be balanced against real constraints like time pressure and logistical requirements. When a private explanation is offered in good faith, genuine intentions to understand would have kept the conversation private. Best practices in organizational dispute resolution emphasize resolving concerns at the lowest level possible before escalating further.
In my observation, persistent questioning that pushes an organization into a corner, receiving a firmer response as a result, and then taking that outcome to public platforms in a way that clearly pertains to the incident, even if no name was specified, is not transparency advocacy. Academic literature on conflict escalation actually identifies this pattern, where grievances that could have been resolved privately instead get socially escalated to involve third parties. That is an unwillingness to accept a decision that was never yours to make in the first place.
There is also a bigger picture here worth addressing. Being a dedicated fan doesn't automatically entitle anyone to event slots or insider access. Research shows parasocial relationships with artists can create a false sense of ownership over decisions that aren't theirs to make, and that same mindset can carry over into how people represent themselves when seeking access. In any professional context, integrity in how you present yourself should be consistent across the board. Presenting as one thing publicly while applying as another is not good practice, in any field.
As P-pop grows, these distinctions matter more for everyone involved. Labels matter. Conduct matters.
