26 Engineer Regiment

They’re off! Starting training in earnest on #SteadfastDefender. Engineer reconnaissance with the Terrier combat engineer vehicle confirmed and improved the movement routes before the rest of the forces followed on: @Proud_Sappers @25CSEngrGp

The @Proud_Sappers and attached arms in the Engineer Task Force have been making final preparations for training on #SteadfastDefender, here building and loading bridges and preparing a brigade leaguer. @35Eod @21Engr

26 Engr Regt started moves by air, land and sea this week as we get ready to play our part on #SteadfastDefender, practicing deployment of armoured capability overseas & training with our NATO partners. It’s going to be a busy time for the whole team @Proud_Sappers @35EOD @21engr

Nearing the end of Exercise #IRONTITAN the @Proud_Sappers from 26 Engineer Regiment have been demonstrating the upgrade process for our bridges as we go from short term close support bridges to longer term Logistic Support Bridge.

Sappers from 26 Engineer Regiment have been busy practising digging protected positions for the armour of @12armdBCT today. The Terrier and Medium Tractor both have part to play in this job. Here some skilful de-turfing will help us put Salisbury Plain back to how it was after.

@Proud_Sappers from 26 Engineer Regiment have been bridging a lot this week on Exercise #IRONTITAN both with our armoured vehicles and by hand - loads of lesson learnt and improving all the time.

@Proud_sappers from 26 Engineer Regiment have been busy this week honing armoured and combat engineer skills. It’s been a great opportunity to tackle tasks not often practiced and has kept everyone busy. Test phase to come! #IRONTITAN

The group have also been getting up and down the crags doing some excellent rock climbing and abseiling 🧗🗻. Over the next few days, the group will be doing some battlefield studies and seeing other sites 🌄🇧🇦. 🧵3/3

As part of the trek, the group followed the route taken by the British SOE on Op Typical during World War 2. To conclude the walk, they attended a memorial at the Sutjeska Monument with the British Ambassador @JulianReillyUK and members of @UKDefenceinBiH team. 🧵 2/3

Members of 26 are currently mid way through a regimental adventurous training expedition to Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦. The group has had an excellent time trekking through the stunning @SutjeskaNP , where they’ve covered circa 80km and summited Mt Lelija 🗻 🧵1/3

Last week, the regiment was privileged to welcome the @CorpsColRE to present a number of Honours & Awards. This included 5 x Long Service and Good Conduct medals, 1 x Chief Royal Engineer Commendation, 1 x @101_Log_Bde Commendation and 2 x @12ArmdBCT Commendations. 🇬🇧 1/2

Clearing the way 🦾💥! .. we have been hosting a training exercise for all the Armoured Engineers from @Proud_Sappers over the past few weeks. This was supported with expertise from @armycmc, helping us to deliver the Engineer Support for @3rdUKDivision & @12ArmdBCT 🇬🇧
