JUST IN: The Pentagon has released a photo of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, a 19-year-old U.S. soldier from Carrollton, Texas, who was killed during Iran's ballistic missile and drone attacks over the weekend. Gonzales was supporting a U.S. mission against the Islamic State group when she was killed while helping defend against incoming Iranian strikes. Her death comes as fighting across the Middle East continues to intensify. U.S. forces launched their ninth consecutive night of counterstrikes against Iranian targets as the two nations continue to battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz.

People forget Rhode Island was essentially an enormous factory compressed into a tiny state, largely because of its peculiar geography of wet, hilly uplands descending rapidly through short rivers into a long, protected tidal bay. Waterpower, ocean shipping, merchant capital, and skilled mechanics were placed almost on top of one another.
By the mid-1800s, the Blackstone and its tributaries alone contained more than one hundred mills and mill villages which are still seen and felt today.
By 1940, Rhode Island was not merely manufacturing war materiel. Its mills produced military cloth and blankets, while its foundries and machine shops made the tools, gauges, precision components, and production equipment that allowed factories across America to manufacture at scale. During the war, Newport would produce roughly 80% of the nation’s torpedoes.
Though it may not seem like it right now, RI was entire industrial civilization compressed into a few dozen miles. There’s much to be tapped back into because of that.

@CarterSkeel IDK, I did the opposite. I graduated from a state school debt free in 3.5 years. I started work right after that and paid cash for my masters. While working, I put on 40 lbs in the gym and put $ in the market. Now, I’m in my mid 20s I can date any gal 18-30 who says yes! W advice

My advice to every dude in college:
Don’t seriously date in college.
You’re trying to find a wife while competing with:
• Frat parties every Friday
• Spring Break in Cancun
• Miami weekends
• Nashville girls trips
• “The girls booked Europe for 3 weeks”
• Study abroad in Italy
College is built around freedom, novelty, and “once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
Graduate. Build your career. Then start looking for your wife while you move to a big city. (After 25)
You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches.

Terrible advice. Way more difficult to meet women after college and the ones you do meet are way more ran-through and have a more developed life that will be harder to integrate with your own. Plus you are delaying starting a family by at least 1 year but more likely 3 or 4, meaning fewer children.
