Get ready, Canada—we need to put on our hockey helmets because this week is going to be rough.
All signs point to some tense, highly reactionary moves from the US administration against us.
Trump’s recent dinner went terribly, leaving him feeling incredibly weak on the world stage.
We all know what happens when he is politically damaged and his poll numbers drop: he lashes out at Canada.
As the smaller economic neighbor, we are always his easiest target to make his base feel big and tough.
On top of that, he is clearly jealous of our Prime Minister and the massive new trade deals Canada just landed with the UAE and Equador.
Being disinvited from the bridge opening this past week just added major fuel to the fire.
It is a perfect storm for an angry explosion of Truth Social posts designed to trigger our anxiety.
Don’t panic.
This is just bluster from a weakened party with terrible polling numbers trying to look tough.
Just hunker down, brace for the unstable announcements, and stay strong.
We'll get through this.

I don't get some of the hate toward Canada's coverage for the Olympics & it's really undeserved. The coverage - which is ALL on CBC, for free - has been top-notch.

I think as Canadians its time we admit that we suck at covering the Olympics. 3 networks doing it and all three have the same women's hockey game on, and Canada isn't even one of the two teams

I went to the spot where Addison Barger’s double got wedged into the wall.
There’s so little give and the padding is so tight to the turf, a ball would have to hit exactly the right spot at the right angle with enough force to get stuck. So unlikely and the timing is crazy.
