I spent a lot of time on #mastodon today searching nature, science, art hashtags and sadly, it was a big letdown. Anyone else have that experience? I think I might be stuck on this blue bird.

#AI illustrations are not created from scratch; they feed on actual illustrations and other images from real artists... without authors' permission. Could anyone please explain me how that works legally? It's an honest question.

According to Wikipedia bat stars can have up to 9 arms! Something I’ve never seen before.

Apologies in advance. Fin whales and blue whales are on my bucket list to see, preferably not like this. Beached Fin whale at Seaside State Beach, Monterey Bay, California.

Every (plastic) toothbrush you've owned in your entire life is still out there somewhere. Sometimes I think about that fact and it makes me feel weird and uneasy.

In the right conditions an oak grows for 300yrs. It then lives for another 300yrs – no more growth just a little restoration. At this stage it beautifully sustains its life taking & giving just enough for its own welfare and that of thousands of other species too. #treeconomics
