@gingerdianne I was shocked when I saw it was locked up, but one of the employees stated that they have had more of these items stolen than high priced ones 😳😳😳😳

Today officially marks 6 months since Hurricane Helene hit us in Western North Carolina. I wasn't a political person before Hurricane Helene, I wasn't even using X... But what I saw during the 5 months after Hurricane Helene, literally changed my entire life so dramatically, it's impossible for me to ever go back. I watched as promises were made, but weren't kept. I watched as the media ignored us, even though we were screaming for help. I watched neighbors living out of tents for months. I helped deliver RVs to families with small kids living out of sheds in their backyard in 21 degree weather. I heard horror story after horror story of people abandoned by a government they trusted to help them. I got calls from frantic families being kicked out of hotels by FEMA into the cold. I had to tell my kids, "I'm sorry, but I don't know when things are going to look normal again..." I heard from so many people, "I think they forgot about us..." That's why I dedicated so much of my life here on X to getting the word out, sharing the stories of hurt, of hope, love, and of tragedy. In the end, we all just become the stories other people know us by, and the only thing I knew for certain, was that as long as I had had a voice... I was going to make sure OUR STORY in Western North Carolina didn't die. So thank you to everyone who cared enough to share the stories for MONTHS. You never gave up on us, and it means the world to everyone here.

@LTequila4 @elonmusk I really don't think they will cut SSI, because that's our money we paid into it for 😯😯. I even recently got a bonus check when they finally gave state and government their money they took just because we didn't pay during that time, but we paid before going to work for them!!

I hope so. I had a good career for 35 years until the Covid pandemic ended it. That was stressful and 2 years later at 57, I had a massive stroke and ended up on Medicaid. After 18 months of paperwork, I was approved for disability. 2 years later, my Medicaid was automatically converted to Medicare and my SSDI converted to regular Social Security (same amount). I no longer qualify for Medicaid because my SS counts as “income” and I have to pay taxes on it. UGH! Ironically, Medicare doesn’t cover as much as Medicaid and as I can no longer drive, I have no way to get to physical therapy anymore (Medicare doesn’t cover transportation). I pray that our benefits don’t get cut; I’m barely scraping by.

@iam_kristy40 I bought a beautiful silver grey silk hat from Dillards years ago with the idea of holding a Kentucky Derby party at my house in FL around the pool…cucumber finger sanwiches, bourbon, mint juleps, etc….and I never did. Gave the hat away when we moved to Alaska.
