@WallStreetApes Speed limits years ago were set by the 85th percentile rule, in other words speeds were clocked over a period of time and whatever 85 percentile was, that was the speed limit for that road. That makes too much sense today as it's really about generating revenue

Democrats in the city of Milton, Washington installed a new speed cameras In only 6 months the new speed enforcement cameras have already generated more revenue than the entire transportation budget. More than $800,000 from nearly 15,000 citations Driving just 6mph over the speed limit gets you a ticket Fines vary by violation: - Typically up to $250, with lower amounts for minor speeding Chief Tony Hernandez noted the city issues tickets for speeds 6+ mph over the limit. They say this is the same threshold officers use for stops Drivers are saying it’s a “cash grab” and complaining about minor tickets like going 42 in a 35 Once you let the government setup systems to take more of your money, they never reverse them

For speeds generally 10 miles over or less, an officer would likely provide discretion, especially if the person didn't already have 27 other tickets. The camera offers no discretion, and no viable recourse. Fines are excessive for most citizens. For minor infractions, this is theft, pure and simple.

@KimKatieUSA I have a bad feeling that all these so called Takeovers are really organized tests to find weaknesses in the system and are going to lead up to something big before the end of summer

Another massive Teen Takeover just exploded in New Bedford Massachusetts yesterday. These lawless youth flash mobs are now happening every single week in cities across America, and they are completely out of control.

@tremley3820 @wakeupnj Grew up spending glorious carefree summers on Normandy Beach and fondly remember my parents taking us to Seaside Heights at the end of the summer for a night of rides and play the wheels. Not sure anything like that exists today and what a shame it is.

@elkim_7 @F1_driven The sprint race at Jerez was phenomenal. If you’re looking for exciting racing you’ll find it in MotoGP… at least for this final year before the regs change and with Liberty in charge I fully expect their impact will be the same as on F1 unfortunately

Weird, I didn't really miss F1, and now it's back I'm bored & I feel as if I don't really care like I used to I feel like it's just so repetitive. Everything is the same, nothing surprising happens. The same rules can be exploited, the same commentators talking nonsense

Again and again, Donald Trump has tried to make it harder to vote and undermine elections. New Jersey won't stand for it. Today, I signed legislation expanding early voting for May municipal elections. I’ll keep fighting to protect your voice, your sacred right to vote, and the integrity of our elections.

Gave up on F1 after being a fan reading and watching for over 50 years. MotoGP racing delivers close racing at 230mph that F1 left behind years ago. The MotoGP race at COTA this weekend not only had grid girls holding the riders umbrellas, they had Texas cheerleaders as the opening performance before the race. The sprint race on Saturday was a spectacular performance of real racing down to the wire. The main race on Sunday was nothing to sneeze at. Either way watch MotoGP before Liberty Media F's it up next year.

They are slowly regulating F1 to death. The 2026 rules feel like a test phase, not the pinnacle of motorsport. Drivers saving energy instead of pushing, strategy over pure speed. If racing gets worse, we’ve solved the wrong problem. Are we still racing? #F1 #Formula1

While F1 banned grid girls, MotoGP carries on with a century old tradition. Do I have any MotoGP and bike enthusiasts here? MotoGP is not only one of the fastest and most dangerous form of racing, but it also features the most overtakes and extremely unpredictable results.
PATINA RESEARCH@patinaresearch

The Yugoslav MotoGP, considered the most dangerous and mismanaged stop on the entire motorcycle Grand Prix schedule, took place at the Grobnik Automotodrom—which literally translates to ‘grave.’ All events were cancelled after 1990. Honestly, this might be the most Balkan sight I’ve ever seen: a half-naked guy casually lifting injured riders onto a stretcher with a dart hanging out of his mouth

Max Verstappen on the new generation of F1 cars: 🗣️"This has nothing to do with racing. I would say the same if I were winning races, because I care about the product of racing. It’s not about me being angry about where I am. Right now I’m actually fighting even harder, so you understand even better what you have to do and what it’s about. But for me, it’s really a big joke." > On what changes can be made to the regulations 🗣️“You can adjust a little bit, but it is fundamentally flawed.” > On a quick switch back to V8 engines as a solution 🗣️"Yes, but I don’t see that happening next year. It’s painful." > Max on his conversation with Stefano Domenicali 🗣️"Well, you have to be a bit careful about what you say. We’ve talked about it." "I think they understand what we drivers have been saying. I think I speak on behalf of most drivers. Some will of course say it’s great because they are winning races, and that’s fine. If you have an advantage, why would you give it up? Because you never know if you will ever have a good car again. But if you just talk with most drivers, then it’s not what we like. I don’t think real Formula 1 fans like it. Maybe some fans like it, but they don’t understand motorsport, and hopefully we can get rid of this as soon as possible." > Max on whether Liberty Media understands the sport or mainly focuses on money 🗣️"I hope they don’t think that way, because that will eventually ruin the sport. It will end up costing them dearly. But as far as I’m concerned, as long as we can communicate with them and make sure we work on solutions, that will already help a lot. However, it will also be very difficult to get everyone to agree. Not everyone has to agree, but most people have to agree in order to push through changes. But like I said, it’s politics. Some people think they have an advantage now and of course want to use that. Fair enough, I understand that — I’m not stupid. But at the same time, if you look at it from the perspective of the sport, it’s just not good." > Max Verstappen on whether drivers should be more involved in regulation changes 🗣️"Yes, I would like that, but I don’t think that will happen. They should have listened already in 2023 to see this coming. Unfortunately they didn’t, but maybe it’s a lesson for the future so that this never happens again. That would be great."
