Today in history we have been learning about 'chronological' order. We ordered events from the Great Fire of London on a timeline. In our history learning next week we will be making our own timelines. Please look out for homework this weekend that will support us with this.

We read a beautiful book today about friendship and belonging. One of my new favourites with beautiful illustrations. Well done to the 16 children who joined me for Book Lovers Tea Party today let's try for more than 20 next week! 5 reads will earn you an invite!

All set for the first Book Lovers Tea Party of the year! 12 children in our class have worked really hard to read 5 or more times in a week. Please come and join us next week by reading at home 5 or more times before next Monday!

Wow, what an exciting morning! We decided to set up some boxes to represent the houses in London in 1666. We then set the first one alight and discussed what happened and why the fire spread so quickly. The children had some wonderful ideas!

We are really looking forward to seeing all our Year 2 learners this week! Our classroom is all ready for you and we can't wait to immerse you in our topic!

Thank you so much to everyone for all of your support with sports day today. We had a wonderful time, there were so many smiling faces, we can't ask for more than that! A special thank you to all of the parents who gave up their time to help, we couldn't have done it without you!

We have had a fantastic time playing tennis this morning with a coach from the Mansfield lawn tennis association. Look out for leaflets coming home today with more information about how you can get involved!

The weather forecast for our trip on Wednesday is rather wet! Please come prepared to be splashing in puddles! Bring wellies in a named carrier bag and waterproofs! Non-uniform please. x

We have been busy this afternoon making sculptures out of clay! Look out our parliament of owls and array of hedgehogs!

Over the holiday a woodland has emerged in our classroom! We are excited about our new topic all about Woodlands! Look out for some topic information coming home soon.

Today we had our first C.A.S.E session with Mr Fowkes. Ask us what C.A.S.E stands for and look out for some information about what we will be learning about coming home tonight. We also have some homework about who are safe people to talk to when we are out and about.

Wow, what an amazing day we have had at Mansfield Museum learning all about the history of toys!
