@SQLGene @notaboutthecell Are you using key Access or Entra Access? Keys in a SAS can expire returning fun error messages.

Searching online came up with stuff about a gateway, which is irrelevant. I tried redoing the access creds. 2/2

@SQLGene @notaboutthecell As long as allow fast copy is active in the settings it should work. Don’t force it as not every step allows for fast copy.

@2meterDBA @notaboutthecell I'll give it a look. I'm honestly struggling mightily right now. I tried doing a read from blob storage. Fast Copy is on, but when it ran I got a bizarre error message. 1/2

@SQLGene @notaboutthecell Check out my blog for some info on this topic. Tl;dr: df gen2 with fast copy is fast and cheap. Copy data flows are fast and cheap as well on binary copy. Transform to delta and you’re better of with notebooks. Copy dataflows and Warehouse are the slowest and most expensive ones

@notaboutthecell 194 GB of CSV (~2 billion rows), lakehouse to lakehouse, same workspace. No meaningful transformations. I think compute engine and fast copy are off, hard to tell.
