A family from church has a boy in the hospital, my wife made them dinner to ease their suffering. I like being married to a woman who does stuff like this instead of typing numbers into a spreadsheet at a job she hates. Happy to work a little harder to make it happen.

This type of thing is so hilarious to me because it would never in a million years happen in my household. If I brought home new towels, this is the reaction I’d get from my borderline(?) autistic/OCD or something husband:
“Why did you buy new towels? Do they match our current ones? Where is this going in EveryDollar? Do we even need these? We should return them.”

My baby (8.5mo) is already showing a strong preference for solids over milk. I have no idea if this is normal at this age??? His milk consumption has gone way down the past week or so and he’s eating solid foods like a maniac.

Unloading the dishwasher, cooking, cleaning, these can all be delayed 5mins, 30mins, 1hr, maybe even a day. Baby things usually need to happen IMMEDIATELY or else the built-in alarm will sound.

i feel like ppl without kids have the wrong idea about what parents mean when they say it’s hard. the hard part is that you have to do it every single day, but none of the tasks themselves are at all difficult, especially once you’re past the newborn stage.
i would always much rather do whatever baby task is at hand than unload the dishwasher or clear up after dinner or vacuum the living room. changing a baby’s diaper isn’t hard or even unpleasant, it’s just harder than lying on the couch scrolling my phone and you’re not allowed to procrastinate it.
i’ve heard ppl be like “i just don’t know if i could do it!” dude, of course you could do it. you think billions of ppl have done it, usually multiple times, but somehow it’s gonna be too hard for you? the full on mentally retarded girl who i grew up with has 4 kids. i think you can handle it.
