@2ndtetrisblock no same i study mandarin and all of the autosegmental stuff has been confusing me so much 😭 (not the mention the fact that ipa tone markings and pinyin tone markings are completely different)

@s1sterdaniel i have to say i dont know too much about autosegmental phonology even though i am currently trying to learn more because im writing my thesis (in part) about that, im more focused on vowel harmony and the only tone stuff i do is in mandarin which is totally different >_<

@s1sterdaniel hm... the /la/ article could also interact with the 3rd & 4th items on the list differently because their second syllable also has an /l/ segment. so the /l/ like blocks the low tone spreading to the first syllable?

@s1sterdaniel @dinoftrash i mean /e/ & /o/ are i guess both equally high but it could have a front+high element to it? idk i suppose it depends on the language. but thats the pattern i see.

it's the part where youre friends but also something more and youve talked about it and you know something will happen eventually but it's not happening Yet and every day you make excuses to see each other so you get to live in that beautiful tension a bit longer.

as ive gotten older, the situation has slightly improved, and i can reliably have a gin tonic at most house parties. but like 90% of the time it's just vodka + whatever mixer there is, if you don't happen to like beer or wine.

i dont understand what world dan and phil were living in where they were having these mixed drinks at uni parties tbh. we always had either beer or the cheapest wine acquirable from the store.

wait ive been so checked out of dan and phil but the new video popped up on my recommended are they actually for real getting drunk bc that is something i have always wanted to see
