My film fast has finally ended, after exactly three months of watching nothing but Lynch-related projects. Fittingly with a Japanese LaserDisc production that I was able to view in Japan, during my stay there. All this felt really cleansing and I highly recommend taking... (1/5)

@javier078 I'd swap "The Empty Man" for "28 Years Later" (which is more than just a horror movie, but also a horror movie if that makes sense). Otherwise great top five! I enjoyed "Nope", "The Wolf of Snow Hollow", "Mad God", "In a Violent Nature", "Smile 2" and "Weapons" too. 🙂

@javier078 From an egotistical point it can be enough, I agree and I have my archive too. But this is more importantly about culture as a whole and art history. The original art pieces will disappear from availability faster than we think.

@javier078 If the original cuts of Star Wars will truly come it seems to be only because Disney acquired the rights. You can not get an original version of The Terminator in HD or 4K at the moment. Fans need to make it themselves. No Blu-ray has the original audio and the 4K has AI and CGI.

You can still get fight club, the terminator at amazon and in 2027 they are going to release the original cuts of star wars. Everything is subjective here, I own that fight club bluray from 10yrs ago, am I gonna rewatch it, just because I want to see that 3 second original bottle? Probably not. But that’s me.

@javier078 Please read what I said. They're banning it from circulation. You have that old Blu-ray (which won't live forever), because in that sense YOU ARE an archivist. Some people don't have it or will trade it in for the 4K not even knowing they will get a different edit of the film.

@2xFeatureRipOff I don’t know, because I havenNt watched the bluray from the 4K set. But I still own the bluray release from 10yrs ago, no has taken that away from me because I bought the 4K.

@javier078 Can you officially buy an up-to-date release (not a DVD on the flea market) of Fincher's films, The Empire Strikes Back or The Abyss, The Terminator, True Lies, etc. in their original versions without changes, added CGI or AI? They're all trying to erase them from existence... 🫤

@2xFeatureRipOff The original is not being BANNED or destroyed is out there, not because I own the 4K means my bluray is destroyed, to be fair.
