I personally saw a 2A region in 2019 with 3 future D1, P4 arms. There were six total D1 arms in playoffs that year. 2A can ball. Overall maybe not as deep year in and year out but there are some good ball players.

And in doing so, they didn’t just achieve a dream… they set the standard for every player who will follow, showing what is possible when experience, youth, and relentless determination come together. For #theland

Today, they returned to that stage. What once fueled their determination has now been fulfilled. The lessons, the hard work, the growth, and the belief all led to this moment. They didn’t just come back to play in the game again — they came back and won it.

Two years ago I said I hoped that, in time, the girls would come to appreciate what it truly means just to play in a state championship game. Reaching that stage is an accomplishment few ever experience.

@CNR_Sports @sportsmatters Their closest drive to a region opponent in Class A will be farther way than their furthest drive would have been in AA likely.

@sportsmatters Blacksburg is in for some hellish drives no matter what region they are in.

With Blacksburg now in 1A there’s almost no way they won’t be in a region with Great Falls and Lewisville. Aren’t many other schools that make geographic sense.

As a result of this latest SCHSL realignment, I'm about done with high school sports!

To answer my own question from actually reading the rules. Rule doesnt go into effect until at or after halftime

I wonder if there is no running clock in @SCHSL Class AAAAA-D2 game due to TV AD breaks. +42 is supposed to trigger running clock except for injuries and timeouts. I thought new rules meant coaches couldn't refuse.

@TheColeBryson That being said i do agree that there has to be ways to improve how championship weekend feels in SC. Its just feels less than (cheaper) than other states but without people and revenue im not sure what that answer is.

@TheColeBryson Biggest constrant is size of attendance. Hard to compare to Georgia and Texas which have indoor stadiums. Georgia had 50k last year (8 games+ 4 flag games). Texas had 150k in attendance overall (12 games). Even Alabama (7 games + 1 flag) though had 43k last year. SC had 12k.

I love state championship weekend. Good luck to all of those teams involved. Especially Russell Blackston & BHP… I don’t love our state championship weekend compared to how other states do it. I’ve been. I’ve seen it. And we’re missing the mark. Go watch GA, Alabama, & Texas. But anyways, Go Bears. 🐻

@RyanClary1400 You should just embrace it at this point. That fanbase has done more to promote you and your show and probably give you a significant bump in listeners this week than you could have paid for in advertising.
