Conserving 30% of lands and waters helps safeguard bird habitat! We love all of our birders here at 30x30 💚🦆

This is awesome: Seahawks star QB Sam Darnold spends most of his free time outside listening to different birds. Sam considers himself a full-time bird watcher. Seattle is destined to win the Super Bowl this year.

"What happens to California’s mountain lions could hold lessons for the world......Wildlife is running out of habitat and human development isn’t stopping anytime soon,” Ms. Pratt said. “We need to learn how to coexist, and the Annenberg is such a testament to that.”

🌿 Today is World Wetlands Day 🌿
California’s wetlands are vital to the health of our state. These ecosystems act as natural buffers, reducing flooding and erosion, improving water quality by filtering pollution, and providing critical habitat for fish, birds, and other wildlife. Wetlands also play a key role in climate resilience, helping protect coastal communities from sea level rise and extreme storms. In California, this importance is reflected in the statewide Marine Protected Area Network, which includes wetlands such as estuaries, tidal marshes, and coastal lagoons.
🎯 Under OPC's Strategic Plan Objective 3.3: Restore vulnerable coastal and marine ecosystems, OPC is committed to restoring at least 7,000 acres of coastal wetlands by 2030, supporting healthier ecosystems, stronger coastal resilience, and community well-being across California.
