💯 correct Clarko - GF mid October, start 2-3 weeks later than currently, give the pre Xmas to the players exclusively, post Xmas club preseason with 10-11wk run into the full year. No brainer. AFLW can find sweet spot post tennis, pre AFL and away we go!

Clarko very strong again on state of origin being in the wrong slot & the toll on players of starting the season in the first days of March. He has made this very point very strongly in recent weeks. Danger did his calf in the last two minutes of state of origin. Nathan Broad was desperate to play despite an ankle injury that lingered. A decade ago (2016) the season started on March 24. Last night (March 26) was the start of the fourth round

@ahleach The crowd tonight was awful but I'd be more worried about GWS crowds after all these years. They're just unwatchable unless they're playing your own team. The AFL dropping the ball on marketing and the opening round 0 is just so stupid, completely busts up the whole season.

I’ve been critical of Michael Vaughan chasing headlines and trying to manufacture clickbait quotes. I think he’s tarnished his 2005 legacy a bit by doing that. I’m one of many fans that he’s blocked.
But, having said all that, credit where it’s due. Having listened to him on the TMS podcast and his own pod today, he sounds a lot more competent and capable than Rob Key.
He clearly has a vision for England. He is a proven performer. I don’t think he would take any crap. He might even knock a few heads together.
Would you like to see him take over from Key?
