Its crazy to think about how long it took for multicellular life to rise on earth. About 540 million years ago, multicellular life bloomed with a huge number of new sea creatures- some of which looked like crabs or scorpions. Pretty cool! #20BCsci 🦂🦀

For some reason I have never really put much thought into how important photosynthesis is, but after reading this chapter (and doing our podcast) I see that photosynthesis is another thing that life depends on. #20BCsci

"In the end, life is fundamentally made up of 4 basic compounds- sugars, fatty acids, amino acids, and nucleotides". I find this interesting because I never thought of things such as fatty acids being a large component of life. #20BCsci

After reading chapter 6, I'm just imagining the sky filled with lightbulbs instead of the sun. #20BCsci

The climate on earth depends on so many things, for example, water vapor and carbon dioxide (not just sunlight). Without carbon dioxide and water vapor, there would be no greenhouse warming. 🥶❄ #20BCsci

I find it intriguing that we still could discover extraterrestrial life forms on other planets. This would be so exciting, in my opinion. #20BCsci 🪐💧

I have always thought it is strange that Venus spins backwards. I wonder if we will ever find out why? #20BCsci 🌌

The earth's atmosphere used to be around 500°+. It's hard to imagine our planet being too hot to live on. #20BCsci

It's amazing that our planet has so many mysteries. We still don't know how and why earth has plate tectonics, while other terrestrial planets do not. 🌍#20BCsci

Pretty interesting that there was an era billions of years ago called Hadean in which a magma ocean probably existed. This is definitely something I wish I could see in person somehow. #20BCsci

It's crazy that it's harder for us to observe the inside of the earth than it is to observe other planets and galaxies. #20BCsci

I think it is crazy that the moon used to be closer to us. I also think its crazy that days used to be shorter on earth. I'm kind of glad our days are longer now, because I still don't have enough time to finish everything in 24 hours. #20BCsci
