@Jane14457995 @MehenOfficial How come? Aren’t stable coins are just pegged to a fiat, so they should only need to deposit/withdraw base on their coin supply? (I’m genuinely curious about how other coin movements effect stable coins, the 1 to 1 is based purely off definition of what a backed currency is)
English

@34dr1Rk @MehenOfficial Not entirely accurate - if they are holding 1 to 1, they have to add to and remove from the reserve account as the number/value of BTC or other tokens goes up and down.
English

I'm very confused about fiat-backed stablecoins w/ USDa & @MehenOfficial . People have tried to explain it to me but my brain is just not getting how it can happen in a decentralized way, when it involves bank accounts. How is it possible to do bank withdrawals.deposits by code?
English

@Jane14457995 @MehenOfficial It have nothing to do with bank account being deposited to or withdraw from. The company running the stable coin just need to make sure they have equivalent value is cash equivalents as they have on their stable coin’s market cap. So there is a level of trust involved.
English

@Jane14457995 @MehenOfficial Fiat backed stablecoin is just like gold backed fiat back in the days. Though this is not how stable coins actually do their accounting, but theoretically speaking every dollar of a stable coin is backed by a dollar worth of cash equivalent fiat.
