I LOVE @OU_Baseball in fact it’s my favorite OU sport but man I’m struggling to keep the faith right now..If it’s not the offense it’s the starting pitching or in tonight’s case the bullpen..Something almost every night; Sooners now 1-6 in SEC after winning series at LSU

@jayson_ben51548 @Danny_Bigmac13 You put them in a regional and both LJ and Cam are both on then look out. I like this team in a super regional series to put up a heck of a fight against anyone, but the opening regional will be a bear and a hero bullpen or bat will have to appear from the ashes.

Vital SEC series upcoming Vandy a spot ahead of OU at 6-6 in SEC play, Sooners at 5-7 After dropping a home series to the Tide off getting swept at Texas, this one is important Vandy getable this year. Hit it a ton, but pitching been their downfall LJ Mercurius in a big spot. Change up hasn’t been as effective the last few outings, if he can get back to locating that, sets up nicely with Cam Johnson tomorrow

@jhale24 It’s so frustrating when your pitcher has that many k’s and gets a no decision, but that’s baseball. I’m intrigued by the starting rotation being a tough matchup in a regional, and I think the bullpen stuff can get pieced back together, but timely hitting is the main concern.

@jayson_ben51548 @Danny_Bigmac13 Just work out the kinks and hopefully timely hitting will show up right before postseason. It really won’t matter if they are a 2 or a 3 at this point, but better play down the stretch could put you in a more winnable regional.

@OUBarstool Sometimes the Tony La Russa style of overcoaching with pitching changes can majorly backfire. This team needs a three run cushion or more or you never feel comfortable until the game is over. You’ve got to win the next two and get out of Nashville 7-8.

@OUhoopsFanGreg You are correct though that they can look at the same list we are looking at and not play the worst chunk and just play a few off the next tier which is like Green Bay or Portland or cal poly or Omaha and Drexel. If we can’t beat those guys then we aren’t winning in the SEC!

@OUhoopsFanGreg When Lon was here they had a formula pegged on how to schedule and it got tougher his last few years to do it as they rolled out the NET rankings. But at least they had an idea which teams had what coming back as it was prior to portal madness. For sure quad 3’s r hard 2 find.

@OUhoopsFanGreg If he schedules too many quad 2’s and loses any of them in the non-conference, then they are totally screwed on the record part already if planning on 9-9 in conference. The trick is to find quad 3’s and stay away from these quad 4’s which hurt metrics of bubble teams yearly.

@OUoutsider55 Absolutely. His name will pop up again and we will see him on tv go off in a game no doubt about it. He needs to find a team that plays zone a lot where he can be at the point of it with his long arms. Some coach out there will have a strategy that works for him.

@SoonerScript In other words, find some dawgs who won’t accept being ranked 100th on defense and who will scrap and claw for every loose ball and rebound. Maybe throw in a few set plays to use at the end of tight games when we have the lead instead of wasted possessions.

@PgrishamGeorge @JoshMCallaway Yeah I get all of that. If he goes with his shot to a P4 develops into a way that makes him a huge piece then that’s not a good look on our staff. He could go somewhere smaller and average 15 to 20 per game and in a lighter conference where his defense could be covered up.

@HighPointHoops @stevebullard They should reward both sides for playing a game like this. Make a NET rule that you can’t drop by playing it. The system is flawed. OU should be able to go play at Tulane or North Texas without a penalty.
