3CMA Webinar Series: Tackling Tricky Conversations in the Age of Information Wednesday, March 18, Noon Eastern Time,  9 a.m. Pacific Time Feedback is essential for growth and effective public service, yet many professionals hesitate to engage in it. A Harvard Business Review study found that 44% of managers avoid giving feedback due to fear of negative emotional reactions. In local government communications, where conversations are often high-visibility, politically sensitive, and tied to public trust, emotional responses can quickly disrupt collaboration and outcomes if not managed with care. This webinar is designed specifically for local government communicators, including those who lead teams as well as those without direct reports who still must navigate complex working relationships with elected leaders, department heads, internal partners, and residents. Through storytelling, realistic public-sector scenarios, and interactive exercises, participants will explore the psychology behind emotional reactions and learn practical strategies to de-escalate tension, maintain civility, and communicate with clarity under pressure. By the end of the session, attendees will have greater confidence managing emotional dynamics in feedback and difficult conversations, and will leave with tools to turn emotionally charged moments into opportunities for understanding, connection, and better public-facing outcomes. Learning Objectives: -Understand the psychological factors that contribute to emotional responses in feedback. -Develop strategies to manage and de-escalate emotional reactions. -Learn techniques to maintain civility and foster productive conversations. -Enhance communication skills to promote understanding and connection during feedback. 3CMA Webinar Series | Three Things Government Communicators Need to Know About Digital Accessibility Friday, February 13, 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time, 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time In an era where digital tools are essential for education, employment, and public services, accessibility is no longer optional—it is a fundamental human and civil right. In this session, we’ll help you move from potential panic to feeling prepared, with a comprehensive look at the shifting legal landscape, including upcoming 2026 and 2027 Title II Americans with Disabilities Act deadlines. The focus will advance beyond simple compliance to understand the "ROI" of inclusion: reaching a broader audience, reducing legal liability, and removing systemic barriers. Through practical examples of accessible text, video, and social media, attendees will learn how to audit their current output and implement a strategic plan that ensures no citizen is left behind. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: -Navigate ADA Title II Compliance and Timelines -Apply appropriate digital accessibility standards to the services your government provides -Identify at least four techniques that can be immediately applied to improve digital accessibility -Manage Third-Party & Contractual Liability Note: This is a 1.5-hour webinar to allow time for hands-on demonstrations of tips and techniques you can use to enhance accessibility and save time.
