@RyanLucas_LA So the hope is that a 26-year old Jaxson Hayes can make the leap and play like… 20-year old Derek Lively did?

Dave with ESPN made it sound a lot (on ESPN LA radio) like after retaining Austin and figuring out Lebron, the next in line to bring back as a priority is ....Jaxson Hayes. Cited his Slovenian national team connection and improved play (how he outplayed atyon most of the season and game 4 v okc, specifically) Im not saying its the move, but i think theres people in that building that believe after a couple years as back up, Hayes can take a "Derrick Lively type of leap" as the starter and they just need to get a legit back up in free agency...

@ClaireMPLS I listen to full albums, I don’t like to jump around songs from different artists/genres. And not to be old man yelling at clouds, but the artistry of arranging albums that flow is being lost. Do artists/producers forgot they can release the fluff as B-Sides or “Special Edition”?

There are stores in the US that sell fabrics, such as Britex in San Francisco, Tip Top and Mood in NYC, and B. Black & Sons in Los Angeles. However, it's generally smart to get swatches before ordering cut lengths. Such shops typically sell offcuts from larger production runs, so they may not always be suited for men's tailoring. For more traditional men's fabrics, check Harrison's of Edinburgh, Fox Brothers, Drapers, and Harrison's Fine Worsteds.

@rBillSimmonsPod It’s not like he’s working from a Barstool office, going to meetings and hanging out. He’s still working from home, with two other dudes living on the other side of the country. Same as he was with The Ringer.

@dieworkwear Derek, any store you would recommend to buy suiting fabrics in the US? I live in a South American country with great tailors but very limited options of good quality fabrics. I could buy online from the US and get it shipped here. Thanks!

If you're based in the United States and interested in bespoke tailoring or shoemaking, I have some trunk show announcements to share with you. Since Twitter recently changed their format, I will be posting this as a thread. 🧵

@ringer @kirkgoldsberry Kirk, I'd bet both numbers go down next season, with the new lottery odds in place. I'm sure some --not all, but some-- of the increase is due to fake / soft "injuries" as tanking teams sat their best players. And I'm sure load management also contributes to it.

@AnthonyIrwinLA The truth is that the Lakers were playing Dalton precisely to trade him. Once the trade fell apart and the deadline passed, priorities changed.

2012 game 6 heat celtics, the 28 points in a row against the pistons early in his career... I would rather see glimpses of that from time to time especially during a playoff run w other old dudes like Steph than just go "oh he retired on top." who cares lol

no way. he should keep playing until he's 46 so we can see how a basketball genius continues to adjust to the failings of his body. Game 1 of the Rockets series was beautiful to watch. Who cares about tarnishing his legacy or whatever. You think he can actually tarnish it?

From @TheAthletic: LeBron James has spent two decades humiliating Father Time. But what if the only way to truly beat him is to walk away before the game forces him to? nyti.ms/4dmPEVL

@jaycaspiankang It was awesome to watch LeBron bruise the Rockets kids in the post. I wish he was a better from 3pt. He could play for years putting his shoulder into dudes’ chest in the post, spacing the floor from the 3pt line, and passing from the post and elbow. They can hide him on defense

@PlayoffKaden Lakers can’t “let Ayton walk”; he has a $8m player option he will pick up because he won’t get better offers. Lakers are stuck with Ayton for another year, unless they waive him —and his salary will still counts towards the cap. They could waive & stretch, but there’s a deadline

Lakers off season wishlist - Resigning Reaves, Lebron, Rui, Smart and Hayes - Trading away Laravia, Knecht - Letting Ayton and Kleber walk - Trading for a wing or winning RFA on Peyton Watson - Winning RFA on Kessler or trading for a center - Signing a backup big/wing Luka, Reaves, (3/d wing) LeBron, Center Kennard, Smart, Rui, (Backup center) Hayes, Thiero, Bronny

@AnthonyIrwinLA Every 14-15th roster spot player in the NBA is a borderline NBA / G-League player (except for the OKC guys). Applies to Bronny, and Thanasis too. If a team’s record is impacted by who’s their 14-15th player, something is very wrong with that team

@Tjonesonthenba If the Wizards decide Peterson is their guy, their best strategy would be to trade down to two and get something from the Jazz —if the Jazz want AJ, obviously.

@ClaireMPLS I’d add that NBA contracts aren’t unilateral. If LeBron gets $30m from the Lakers it’s because the team thinks that’s good business for them. If fans aren’t happy with a contract, I see no reason to ever blame the player.

@iamrahstradamus But Morey did try to trade him then. There were reports at that time of him shopping Ben, he just didn’t pull the trigger. This is from December 2020, before the debacle that tanked Ben’s value. Morey had the right idea but didn’t execute it nytimes.com/athletic/42289…

Um, when was Morey supposed to trade him? He joined the 76ers in November of 2020 and he literally saw him for ONE season, a season in which the 76ers were a number 1 seed in the East and lost game 7 against the Hawks. He traded him right after that season. It's almost like people are forgetting that Morey wasn't there from 2017 through 2020. There's no chance Morey would have been able to trade Ben coming off the 2019-2020 season which ended in the Bubble after Simmons dislocated his kneecap.
Three Level Scorer@3LevelScorer

@iamrahstradamus The mistake that cursed Morey’s tenure was not trading Simmons earlier, at peak value. He knew he and Embiid didn’t fit, but waited too long to act and it blew up in his face. He could have gotten a massive return for Ben, and instead had to add picks to trade him for Harden

I honestly feel bad for Daryl Morey. It feels like he inherited a no win situation in many ways. His tenure came right after Colangelo, Brand & Brown fumbled one of the best non-OKC situations we've ever seen and he was forced to salvage a situation with an injured & unhappy Ben Simmons and navigate a franchise with a Superstar level talent that would never be healthy. Feels like letting Jimmy Butler go to Miami was the sliding doors moment for the 76ers and they never recovered. They went all in for ONE season and never let them stay together.
