We had an amazing day at the trip yesterday. We did so many activities like measuring the speed of the river, doing an orienteering activity where children followed guidance using compasses and sketching and labelling the different parts of the river. @PrimaryWoodside

we had a practical maths lesson where children were comparing numbers up to 1000 using comparative language. We made a number line from 0 to 1000. The children then compared their numbers with each other using comparative language. @PrimaryWoodside

This art lesson, 3 Lime have been sketching using experimental lines by focusing on the different techniques, drawing the negative space and adding details to the picture. @PrimaryWoodside

In History, 3 Lime has been exploring Ancient Egyptian. This week we have looked at the Ancient writing material that they used. In our lesson we made our own Papyrus paper using paper strips by weaving strips in and out. @PrimaryWoodside

This week in Maths, we have been learning about place values. Children have been identifying the values of each digit and showing excellent team work skills. @PrimaryWoodside

3 Maples have displayed tremendous enthusiasm and exceptional teamwork during sports day. They worked so well with their teammates. We appreciate the parents for coming out and supporting them. @PrimaryWoodside

3 Maple have been designing their own Victorian inspired money bag made from textiles. The children used the cross stitch style to stitch their bag together. @PrimaryWoodside

This week, 3 Maple have been finishing off their play scripts on 'Oliver Twist', we then rehearsed and performed in front of the class. They did an amazing job in turning the story into a play script. Here's a little glimpse of their play. @PrimaryWoodside

In 3 Maple, we conducted a colour-changing celery experiment. We got to see how plants absorb water and transport it through their stems, resulting in a change of colour in the celery stalks @PrimaryWoodside

In History, we have started a new topic ‘The Bronze Age’. The children made an arrow head using aluminium foil to stimulate bronze. They then had a look at which was a better material between a flint and a bronze. @PrimaryWoodside

As part of 3 Maple’s Good to be Green reward, they had decorated their biscuits using icing and lots of sprinkles. @PrimaryWoodside

This week in science, 3 maple were learning about the different types of soil. The children have been doing a soil layer experiment. We have used stones, sand, humus and water. @PrimaryWoodside

As we are learning about the Stone Age, 3 Maple visited Addington Hills to examine and collect the natural resources that were available during the Neolithic Age. @PrimaryWoodside
