When you try to tell me what’s wrong with the Book of Mormon when you’ve never read it and refuse to read it you’ve just told me your opinion on it is uneducated and worthless and you don’t care about sounding dumb on a topic

@BuzzzStryker @GuyInco15542744 When you try to tell me what’s wrong with the Book of Mormon when you’ve never read it and refuse to read it; you’ve just told me your opinion on it is uneducated and worthless. Please point out the flaw in that sentence.

Sadly, it is, although most of it is found in the clownish Doctrines and Covenants of the false church. Doctrine and Covenants 76:50-70: The Celestial Kingdom and defines how to become "valiant." Doctrine and Covenants 131: Explains that there are three degrees of glory within the Celestial Kingdom. Doctrine and Covenants 132: Defines the conditions and eternal laws required for the highest degree of exaltation.

@GuyInco15542744 You are not going to get your own planet to rule no matter how much money you give the LDS.

For 160 years, "Nahom" in the Book of Mormon was a name that didn't exist anywhere on Earth. Joseph Smith dictated it in 1829 — the desert place where Ishmael was buried in 1 Nephi 16:34. The text uses the passive: "the place which was CALLED Nahom." Lehi (a prophet in the BofM) didn't name it. It was already there. In 1988, German archaeologists excavating the Bar'an Temple at Marib in Yemen recovered three votive altars donated by men of the NHM tribe — dated to the 7th–6th centuries BC. Same name. Same century. Same region. In Hebrew, NHM means "to comfort." In Arabic, NHM means "to mourn." Both meanings collapse onto the very moment a father-in-law was buried in the wilderness. How could a 23-year-old farmboy in upstate New York have named an Arabian tribal burial ground in 1829 that wasn't excavated until 1988?

@NunyaBiz734703 @FaithLikeAbish2 So you don’t think Elijah the prophet will return and turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers?

@FaithLikeAbish2 As a non-denominational, I believe the earth has been smitten with a curse. We call it Islam. Is that a curse for this or the creed? Not sure, but it definitely feels like a curse

When confronted with evidence in a simple conversation, why do so many LDS members immediately jump to "you're dishonest" (without evidence) and "mic drop" to the exit?

I did not know this. Did you know that during Joseph Smith's time people were calling him the Muhammad of the West? I happen to know a lot about Muhammad and Islam so I find that incredibly interesting. The way that Muhammad and Joseph Smith started their cults are also very similar. bhroberts.org/records/0Y5sG9…

@3Trumpeteer @realTWB52 @mexinorseman Pretending like there’s no facsimiles is definitely a choice. You’re too deep in this religion to realize it’s bullshit even when confronted with facts as to why. Glad you’re happy though.

I have theological differences with LDS. But, I have never called the church evil. They follow their teachings faithfully. The members are amazing. You can't call the church evil and then expect people to not believe that you don't think the people are by extension evil also

@surfnburnn @realTWB52 @mexinorseman I agree with that statement. Keyword being “fragments”. Most of the papyri were lost in the Chicago fire. What we have was not the book of Abraham.

@3Trumpeteer @realTWB52 @mexinorseman Oh ffs. You’ve been given the truth and know the truth and refuse to believe it. Straight from your churches website btw “Latter-day Saint and non-Latter-day Saint Egyptologists agree that the characters on the fragments do not match the translation given in the book of Abraham”

@surfnburnn @realTWB52 @mexinorseman Show me the proof. Where is the original papyrus that Joseph translated the Book of Abraham from? Or are you only pointing out the one facsimile that can be interpreted multiple ways?
