@DrEmmaBeckett I think you actually need to make her an invisibility cloak from sheer curtain material now. She needs to be invincible!

One of my cats appears convinced the sheer curtains are her invisibility cloak. Normally if you turn on the vacuum anywhere near her she bolts, but if she’s behind the sheer curtains you can vacuum right up to her and she won’t even flinch.

@MaisyandBonnie You adopt a cat or the cat distribution system will deliver one to you. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How do you learn to be alone when you’ve had a dog in your life for 16 years? How do you adjust to that loneliness? How do you do life without the reasons that gave you the purpose to get up every day? Who do I talk to about my day?

Polling denialism. If you are not a politician and get into this sort of denialism - you will eventually have one very bad night when the ballot boxes get opened. Think back to the Referendum. If you are a politician and get into this sort of denialism - you, anyone you are responsible for, like your staff, the people who depend you, will all have a horrific night when the ballot boxes get opened. You will lose your job, your staff will lose their jobs and the people who depend on you will no longer have a voice. Do what Labor’s @MurrayWatt did when questioned about the recent polls. Acknowledge it’s tough out there for a lot of Australians, acknowledge that sometimes polls are good, sometimes they are not. Accept the numbers and try to address the problem. He displayed empathy and a lot of emotional intelligence. These days, these are rare qualities.

@derrekjthompson @emilykmay I'm the current audience & I find this turn of events most engaging. It's reality & I'm here for it. Been happily married over 20 years but not encouraging the institution to my kids - it's just not necessary these days. You'll be fine Emily, the kids will be fine too.

@lesstenny In my youth I would have 🤮but then I travelled the world & tried this abysmal combination for myself & was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Looks bad, tastes great. 10/10 good stuff!

@EliMcCann I can assure you Halloween is the best with kids. I was hard lined Halloween naysayer, "American bulls..t" but then I had a couple of crotch goblins & who doesn't want to dress up & have fun? 🤷🏼‍♀️ 👻

@KindlyLoudly @CCLG_UK This is really important. Thank you. My mum is a nurse and she taught me to push hard on doctors once I had kids. Keep asking, demand the testing & doctor 'shop' if necessary. Never ignore a parent's intuition.

She’d had a blood test, but lymphoma doesn’t show up in a standard blood test - it lurks in the lymph nodes meaning you need an X-ray or scan to identify it. Lots of emphasis is put on parents knowing what to look out for, which is certainly important. 3/n #ccam

As we come to the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to reshare these photos of Ruby, at the beach, 2 weeks before her diagnosis She’d been poorly for a few weeks & the various doctors we’d seen were sure her symptoms were due to allergies. #ccam 🧵

@RealShadySukkar It would be funny if he wasn't being paid to represent us! I guarantee 95% of his electorate has no idea how often this happens!

@danofmyheart Me too, HOWEVER when your friend is lovely but her husband is a jerk you continue to be friends with him because you know that supporting her is what's best for her. Leaving her alone with only his viewpoint in her ear is far more damaging than my moral stance being attacked.

Imagine if all those who immediately respond with “not all men” instead responded with “this is an appalling & unacceptable situation that we all must work to stop” I know. Dreaming.
