On 7/16/25 the MDC Board of County Commissioners, approved a resolution to name a portion of SW 146th Terr as Judge Melvia Bailey-Green Terrace. The Street Naming Ceremony took place on Saturday, 9/13/25, at the Ferguson Park.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, the judges of the Third District Court of Appeal unanimously elected the Honorable Norma S. Lindsey to serve as Chief Judge-Elect for a two-year term, starting on July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., the Third District Court of Appeal will held the Passing of the Gavel Ceremony from Chief Judge Thomas Logue to incoming Chief Judge Edwin A. Scales, III at the Freeman Justice Center in Key West, Florida.

On 7/1/25, Edwin A. Scales, III, who was unanimously elected by his peers, begins his two year term as Chief Judge of Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal. Chief Judge Scales will serve as the twenty-second Chief Judge of the  Court since its opening in 1957.

On May 31, 2025, the Honorable Bronwyn C. Miller served as the mistress of ceremonies at the 109th Annual Miami-Dade Bar Installation Gala

On 5/14/25, The Honorable Kansas R. Gooden served as the keynote speaker at the 67th Annual N. Dade Justice Center Law Day.  The event was hosted by the 11th Judicial Circuit and the Judges of the N. Dade Justice Center, and sponsored by several bar assoc. & community partners.

On 5/9/25 the Miami-Dade Bar hosted a half-day seminar on Changing Minds and Navigating New Frontiers at the Third District Court of Appeal.  Special guest Supreme Court Justice John D. Couriel , presented the keynote address on “The Role of Precedent in the Decisional Process.”

On 5/6/25, high school students from Coral Gables High School, attended the Court's oral argument session. The judicial panel, Chief Judge Thomas Logue, Judge Monica Gordo, and Judge Alexander Bokor met with the students following the oral arguments.

On Friday, April 11, 2025, the Court held the Investiture of Kansas R. Gooden as the 44th member of the Third District Court of Appeal bench.  Supreme Court Justice Meredith Sasso administered The Oath of Office

On 4/2/25, the Court convened an official oral arguments session at STU of Law. The judicial panel was presided by Judge Ivan F. Fernandez, Judge Norma S. Lindsey, and Judge Bronwyn C. Miller. After the session, the Judges held a Q&A panel with the students.

On 3/7/25 Chief Judge Thomas Logue received the Florida International University College of Law 2025 Judicial Excellence Award from Dean Antony Page.
