Everybody, meet Josh Gemmen! Josh is an account manager at 3DXTECH and has been with us for almost 4 years now. When we brought this up to him, he said, "Jeez, time sure flies when you're having fun!" For most of his time on our team, he was the lead service technician. Although he has been printing knick-knacks at home since 2020, he says his time as a technician taught him a lot about printing high-temp materials like Ultem and PEEK. Before he was a technician, he was a CAD operator here at 3DXTECH, so he prides himself on his understanding of FDM 3D printing from design to printing. Josh will be at RAPID + TCT in Boston this April! Come say hi, and feel free to ask him about racing derby cars at local county fairs around Grand Rapids. He hopes to see you there!

Not every print needs exotic materials, but some absolutely do. Learn how to identify when standard filaments like PLA and PETG will fall short, and which engineering-grade materials to choose when heat, load, UV exposure, or chemicals are in play. Read more in the article: rebrand.ly/cdufjfo

Keep your filament dry, stable, and print-ready with our Filament Dryer + Filament Maintainer Bundle. The dryer removes absorbed moisture while the maintainer keeps filament in a controlled environment during printing to prevent reabsorption and moisture-related defects. Buy together and save $1,495 while ensuring more reliable, high-quality prints.

The 3DXTECH team wishes you a happy Pi Day! From circular gears to cylindrical housings, π shows up everywhere in mechanical design, which gives engineers and makers plenty of reason to celebrate the mathematical constant today. We did ask AI to help us create this Pi Day image. It might have struggled a bit with the dimensional accuracy in the image… but you know what doesn’t? The FM1 Filament Maintainer and FD1 Filament Dryer work together to keep your filament ready for reliable 3D printing. The FD1 restores moisture-affected materials, while the FM1 maintains a controlled dry environment and allows filament to feed directly to your printers. Designed to stack together as a compact system, they provide a simple solution for drying, storing, and managing your filament. For a limited time, you can also save $1,495 when purchasing the FM1 and FD1 together as a bundle.

@AzzyDesignWorks But in all seriousness, your current setup already looks great. It may not be ideal, but it's what we would recommend on a budget when industrial solutions aren't an option. When you dry your reel, we have found that a decent amount of toaster ovens fit our 2kg reels.

Some choices were made to use this behemoth. Ideally, I would make a riser and cut holes in a container to mount the polydryer under it. The can is full of desiccant. But this is the smallest tub I could find with a seal that fits (24 qt?).

@AzzyDesignWorks We consider it a multi-purpose spool... One of those purposes may or may not be fitting in a Stratasys canister. 👀

@3dxtech , I'm assuming this 300mm spool size is for a specialized machine, like Stratasys?

Done playing around with those tiny rolls. PA does not seem to like filament changes.
