Prog 475 Bit "handsy". Sorry, I'm tired and that's all I've got today.

Panache. Charlie. Tweed. Opium. Perfume names reflected both the fragrance and their intended demographic. So god only knows what Lentheric were thinking with TRAMP. Not even Melvyn Hayes can save this one. The 70s, folks.

Saturday, I spotted these items for sale in a retro antique shop. Which do you think is the most niche? 1) An 8 Track of 1001 Gelignites: The Explosive Exploits of Blaster Bates Vol 2 from 1968? OR 2) A simian themed children's annual loosely based on a PG Tips TV ad campaign?

@RealPaulPutner “Don’t worry, Paul Putner says I’ve got 20 years left. Yes you do, you’ve seen him pooing in the street on TV.”

@RealPaulPutner It will also be of great comfort to my wife as she surveys the contents of the fridge.

@RealPaulPutner Turns out I actually have volume three, and it looks like he got it for a pound, which doesn’t sound right but I suppose anything’s possible at a con club rummage sale.

@RealPaulPutner Thing of beauty. McCarthy’s a marvel whose work is rare enough that anything which comes along is an easy purchase to justify.

Prog 473 I love this! It looks like a nineties club flyer for a rave night. The cover has also made me have The Beatles 'Rain' going around my head for the past hour, which is obviously a good thing.

@RealPaulPutner @hellothisisivan I love it when Gordon Jackson pops up in Kenneth Williams’ diaries. I like to think of them on the sofa with some custard creams critiquing the latest episode of The Professionals.

Spotted this annual in a chazza today. I would've bought this pop artefact, but it was a bit manky. I took a snap of these pages though. The fickle world of teenagers in 1980, eh? Poor Gordon Jackson, and he was building up such a head of steam in popularity with the youth too.

@CeeChampion @Ravenismeee So there’s an argument Howie won in the long run. But I expect there’s also an argument he’s the villain, making it an airtight case. Well played. 220!

@IrkthePurists I suspect all modern decline is related to Germaine Greer’s keenly-felt absence in some way.

You want to know when things started going wrong? 1999, when Channel 4 decided to have a ‘people’s jury’ on their Booker Prize coverage instead of Tom Paulin and Germaine Greer calling everyone cunts.

First World Real Life Jump Scares 1) Tree branches whacking the roof of the top deck of a bus 2) A landline phone calling between 11pm and 7am 3) Passing a gate with a grumpy Alsatian on the other side 4) Unexpected flight turbulence 5) The trumpet sound of The One Show theme

@CeeChampion It’s pretty good except every time he left the room or went home I’d have to say “Go, Rilla!” and I expect that’d become annoying in no time at all.

@RealPaulPutner For a regular novelty clock I’d agree, but this is clearly a mega-clock. “It’s freebie time” perhaps feels a little off-message but, again, mega-clock.

Prog 471 This is a proper old school 2000AD body horror cover, but as usual the impact is undermined by another promotional banner "Aaaaargh! I'm exploding into atoms, but reader, you could nab yourself a free novelty clock, so it's not all searing agony and total obliteration."
