Newcastle couldn’t keep it. Gerard Martin ability to pick Raphinha out from there was the reason Fermin Lopez could score😂😂😂

@excellente_6 Fermin looked far better than when I last had time to watch him. Really interested to see how this Barcelona team in the later rounds. PSG v Barca or even Bayern Barca would be very interesting

He is a fucking machine mad man 😭😭😭. He ran Kimmich to the ground in that 4-1 as well, he gets his energy from the pits of hell and he would have 100% ran Vitinha stupid on matchday 1 early this season
IB@iFCBellissimo

Tonali probably had his worst night yesterday. Fermin was on a mission to take his life. An aggressive, passionate, good-at-exploiting-space midfielder is your worst nightmare in an M2M press. At one point, Tonali was chasing shadows.

El Newcastle se creyó que podía flotar a Maldini. Lo pagaron caro. La clase obrera reina más que nunca.

I remember when we first tried Martin as a center-back. Many people were hesitant and skeptical and said he might handle smaller league games, but in the UCL or against top teams, he would get exposed. But look at his track record now: we’ve faced Atletico Madrid twice and Newcastle twice with him as our CB, and he’s performed magnificently in all four matches. In fact, I’d even argue that his performances in these big, high-pressure games have been better than in the smaller league matches. I just really love how much he’s grown in confidence, he now plays with decisiveness, reads the game better, and looks much calmer even in high-stakes situations.

@geordiejosh Was strange I thought how long Eddie Howe persisted going M2M especially against Barcelona. I think there is a lot of stubbornness behind it, I hope in the future lessons were learned last night and Howe adapts as always had a soft spot for Newcastle x.com/3rdmanmovement…

Full article out later looking at the ways Barcelona were able to find solutions vs Newcastle. One key thing that stood out is Barcelona were constantly manipulating the midfield line of Newcastle to create passing opportunities which allowed them to play through Newcastle 🧠

@DKostanjsak Loved watching the game. Will be interesting to see if more teams after the past couple of weeks of Champions league football will move away from M2M system as the best teams will put you to sword as we have seen particularly with Barcelona and Bayern x.com/3rdmanmovement…

Really enjoyed watching and looking closer at the ways Barcelona were able to get past the press and create opening past Newcastle into dangerous areas. Last night showed a great example on how one of the best teams in the world can find solutions vs the M2M system
