@Cornfrmr My LDL is 110, HDL 55 and Triglycerides 121 and my doc recommended start on a statin 3 months ago again. Sitting here with bad muscle cramp from the statin had the same cramp 2 years ago and quit taking them then. Done with them again this time and probably the doc too.

Our corn planter has had no til coulters on it its entire life. I’d like to have row cleaners but not yet. I took the no til coulters off and so far on the 184ac of corn on corn I have in the ground I have way less hair pinned residue in seed trench then when I had the coulters

@MaxROIFarmer Went away from spiked row cleaners and closing wheels after having to clean out every one after planting in heavy cover.

@FoulkShay Hopefully not the line that needs the cab to come off to repair. Shop in town fixed one by snaking a hydraulic hose under the cab.

@FoulkShay That a Status measuring cup your using to drink out of. Wife caught me doing that with new one and she told me no more. She said what if kids grab a used one she had valid point.

Question small farm folks: Will be setting up similar 60” strips this spring for summer annuals. Plan is to plant native grass strips in the middle of two annual flower/vegetable strips, and cut those grasses periodically using either a sickle bar or a flail mower (haven’t decided on which yet) - which is my question. Would you prefer to mulch with tall grass cuttings post-sickle, or take up the flail cuttings, which will also break down faster when applied on the other rows? Or are we best doing both at some point (which means more equipment). This chop-n-drop method will to set up to use green mulch on our rows, with all the benefits mulching provides. The simple concept is 1/3 of the land feeding the other 2/3 while our chicken tractors will be servicing the grass strips between during the season and on the rows over winter. Combined with biochar and compost applicatoon starting this fall, I think this system can work well out here in eastern NC, especially in our sandy soils. Thoughts?

@bigaljack Would rather have hailed off corn at that stage than frosted off corn. Will be hard for growing point to push through those leaves.

@CanadianCowMan That video brings back memories. I was turning left with planter in a left turn lane and a semi passed me on the left. Scared the 💩 out of me .

@thefarmerslife Had a neighbor in the 80’s producing his own ethanol in bulk milk tank. He used it in all fuel 2 cylinder tractor for about a year till it burned the valves out. That ended that experiment.

Worked on fine tuning fertility plan over the weekend & making some tweaks. We cut 45# of soil applied N out of our program last year, and looking at trying to take some more. Yields were strong & soils responded well with big improvements in our Weoc & plant available nutrients
