@PrepWayne @mitchsherman PBA is one of the nicest basketball arenas in the country... not sure what more you could do to that? You do realize that Memorial stadium will be used for concerts going forward and this renovation makes that more appealing for those events.

@mitchsherman Can we stop spending money on this shitty football team. My god give the basketball team some of that. No lets renovate a stadium for less fans, more expensive tickets, and a 5-7 football team. Only way things will change is if we stop supporting them so much like this!!

The University of Nebraska has unveiled its plan to renovate Memorial Stadium -- in the works since 2023 but delayed for two years. The cost: $600 million, including at least $250M from donor support and $350M in financing. If approved by the Board of Regents on April 24, major work would begin after the 2026 season -- including overhaul of the South Stadium. The project would be set for 50-percent completion by the 2027 season and finished in time for 2028 kickoff. Capacity at time of completion: 80,000, a figure that includes 20,000 new chairback seats and 7,000 seats dedicated to students and the marching band.
