@Tablesalt13 if federal contracts open up, veterans likely won’t vanish from the sector. They may simply be spread across more employers instead of concentrated in one century-old institution. The uniform changes, the skill set stays.

@Tablesalt13 Commissionaires Canadas contracts are made up of, 48% Federal Government 52% Commercial clients And only 18% of their workforce are veterans. This change only affects the Federal Government contracts, many other security firms hire veterans.

BREAKING: Carney ends Commissionaires Canada $330 million security contracting rights for Federal properties. This is a non-for-profit security organization which employs Canadian veterans.

@Tablesalt13 Ending special contracting rights means they lose guaranteed priority, not eligibility. Commissionaires Canada could still bid on contracts and win them the same way any qualified contractor would: by submitting the strongest proposal.

Filling up my truck twice a week is becoming increasingly unsustainable in this struggling economy—one that many attribute directly to years of Liberal policies. Yet every day, I'm still told that it's all Trump's fault. 🙄 What’s truly mind-boggling is how many Canadians appear completely unwilling to examine the role of our own government. There's rarely, if ever, any mention of the corruption, fiscal mismanagement, or accountability issues surrounding our Prime Minister and his administration. SMH!

@PierrePoilievre What you’re describing may feel politically controversial or unfair to some voters, but it is generally legal and part of how Canada’s system is designed to work . Unless there’s evidence of actual illegal activity (like bribery or coercion).

The Carney Liberals did not win a majority government through a general election or today's by-elections. Instead, it was won through backroom deals with politicians who betrayed the people who voted for them. While the Prime Minister spent the year on this cynical power grab, he has doubled the deficit, and given Canada the worst grocery prices and housing costs in the G7. Liberals expect Canadians to give up, get complacent and go away, so Carney can have total power without any accountability. That will not happen. Our country and its people are worth fighting for. We will continue to fight for people to afford homes, food and fuel. We will continue to fight for safety in our streets. We will continue to fight for our resource workers and soldiers. I will continue to lead that fight every day and in every way in Parliament, across the country and in the next election, when Canadians will reclaim the country we know and love.

@AaronGunn Canada is rich in oil, but gasoline prices are global, taxed, and infrastructure-dependent. Building pipelines won’t drop gas prices. Maybe start with reducing the 30%+ in taxes?

Ridiculous. 4th-largest oil reserves in the world. $2.09 per litre at the pumps. It's time to build pipelines, refineries and an energy policy that puts Canada, and Canadians, first! 🇨🇦

@JayGenXer Canada has lots of oil, but: It’s expensive to produce, It’s sold at global prices and taxes and logistics add significantly to the price. So being resource-rich doesn’t translate into cheap gas—especially in a globally integrated market.

🇨🇦💸To Canadians who are now looking at $2/litre (and rising). Before you blame it on Trump, here's a reminder. Canada has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world. It's our Liberal Prime Minister who won't allow us to use them. Plus the Prime Minister before him had a decade to prepare for this, but also wouldn’t us to prepare nor prosper 11 years of planned decline! This was NOT by chance!

@Candace16821073 @CynFarmGirl @CramerSez Yes because children in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s were routinely vaccinated against whooping cough (pertussis) as part of the DTP or DTaP vaccine series, which also includes protection against diphtheria and tetanus.
