I’ll say this again, the reason you don’t see a lot of publications from developing countries compared to here, is not the lack of innovation but the lack of federal research funding and resources to pay for individual/institutional journal access and publication costs.

In the name of OA 🔓, this is crazy! Peer-reviews are pro bono, their platforms are virtual yet production costs rise. It’s like we are funneling tax-payer NIH money straight into private publication houses. For context, that’s a fifth of what a postdoc/resident makes in a year.
