Day 9
We made it! 1000 miles in 9 days from Land's End to John O'Groats. Today was the last leg of what feels like a tremendous achievement. We are all very proud of the team and immensely grateful for all the support we've had. Huge thanks!
Thank you for everyone’s encouraging Tweets, Comments, Likes, Messages, Kudos and all the other stuff over the last week. We’re awake in Tain with sore bodies but ready for our final push!!!
Day 8: As if yesterday wasn't hard enough, someone suggested the 20% gradient at the Lecht was a good idea for today. At least it was out the way by lunchtime. Another very long day in the saddle through more extraordinary scenery. Just one final push tomorrow.
Day 7 - This was the day we cranked up the challenge a notch with the unrelenting ascent of Glenshee to conquer just before Braemar. The Henri Desgrange prize for first over the highest point of our tour - 675m at Glenshee - was won by Mel Dixon. No surprise there then.
Home comforts enjoyed, it’s time to get back down to business. 3 brutal days left of the challenge as we venture into the cairngorms. Almost 600km to go and over 7k of climbing.
