@HenriFunke@Ashley78186050 Now as an American in Europe, many will treat you rudely just for being American, not based on how you’ve treated that person or how you’ve behaved.
@HenriFunke@Ashley78186050 You are conflating the internet with real life. If you as a European come to America, you’ll be treated with nothing but kindness and respect as long as you approach Americans with kindness and respect. Even if you’re rude, it’ll be laughed off by most, not all, but most.
@d16b0lical@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz Their carrier on train track going in a straight line in the desert doesn’t count. But all that being said, irans caused a lot of damage with terrible quality weapons by just shooting them at every country they’re able to and targeting undefended civilian targets.
@d16b0lical@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz If they tested them on moving targets they know we’d see the miss bc we can see every missile launch on the planet. And have been able to for half a century.
This is an interesting article, one observation though, that could be one of the culprits of chinese "conclusions":
We can see variables and flows, and quite detailed conclusions for both B-21 and X-47.
We see quite the "self-congratulating" conclusions on how "their adjustment XYZ" would "optimize" the design.
One thing is REALLY missing:
The disclaimer that all these simulations are based off a model of a given (un)precision and validity.
Few things are as detail-constrained as aerodynamics (down to Reynolds), and some Model that "looks" like the real thing might be significantly different aerodynamically from the real thing.
I just have significant doubts that the "real" B-21 and X-47 have the undesireable airflow characteristics seen from those simplistic models, as it is very likley that some of the best aerospace engineers in the world with "de facto unlimited" compute and resources worked on those planes.
@teortaxesTex The recent purging of the majority of the j-20 design team would beg to differ. Right after the failure of Chinese radars in all 3 conflicts it’s been used in. Could the two be linked? What was used to test the stealth detecting radar? Oh, the non-stealth j-20?
American "deep tech" "engineers" on X: «lmao rivets, canards, chicom engineers don't know the basics of stealth, 50 years behind kek».
Chinese researchers at NSCC: «ok, here's X-47 and B-21. Let's optimize the heck out of these two pieces of junk… for science!»
amazing
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz But just posing as the original leakers and not the whole thing being a plot. State media actually thinks this paper is advanced and that they could actually optimize aerodynamics of a plane based on photos and guesses.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz I haven’t followed the recent release closely but I could totally see the small release as being a convoluted psyop to try to display the superiority of advanced Chinese technology. Because this paper is literal ccp propaganda. They touted it a ton all over state media last year.
@reddit_lies@teortaxesTex Yea I mean that’s obviously what happened. “We optimized the general shape of a plane based on guesses for purposes it wasn’t designed for or struggled with.” China hasn’t even made 1 stealth plane. The plane they thought was stealth was only stealth on their shitty radars.
@teortaxesTex I find it rather suspect that China would have sub-milimeter 3D models of the X-47B.
More than likely China hand-derived these models from public images, introducing a crazy amount of error that the solver then "optimized"
@PetePiranio@torbenmarkp The true cost is in the bases and defense of Europe. 60 billion per year. He’s trying to get the us people and congress ok with the idea of ditching most European bases. Europe fell right into the trap.
@PetePiranio@torbenmarkp Or he could avoid all of that, move most of the bases out of Europe, and force Europe to buy more us weapons and pay more for their own defense. He has never actually wanted to leave nato. It’d be quite stupid. We only pay 550M yearly to nato directly.
If the US don’t need NATO, then why is Trump acting like a big cry-baby, begging for help, and complaining when he doesn’t get it?
Can anyone explain that?
@PetePiranio@torbenmarkp But yes, his actual goal in regards to nato is to withdraw most bases from Europe (he definitely can do that wo congress) as that is the real driver of cost to the us. 60 billion dollars a year. He’ll leave a few and let Europe fend for themselves.
@PetePiranio@torbenmarkp Believe it or not, everything he does inside America is strongly backed by our laws bc he knows every action he takes will be contested in the courts and will be easily reversed if there is no legal standing.
@torbenmarkp@PetePiranio Europeans are too blinded by ideology to think critically or logically. Trump cannot decide to leave nato. Congress has to vote to leave nato. He is using this opportunity to manufacture support in the us to leave nato. He knew beforehand what Europe’s response would be.
@chrisschmitz Ahh yes, precise calculations from estimations of a new plane no one has measured yet. Putting the x-47 on there just lets you know this is completely fake. Oh, you made calculations on a plane that has never been seen before? With no images even released?
