I am in disbelief. They truly needed to be one of the best teams in the league post-Olympics to have any shot at a playoff spot and they were. Still tied with Buffalo for the most wins (17). Rick Tocchet pushed the right buttons and made the right moves to get this team to another gear. There's not a single player in that lineup you have any real worries about heading into the first round. Porter Martone is 19 years old and they don't make it without his addition. Tyson Foerster IMMEDIATELY looked like the same player from October/November coming back from injury. Dan Vladar has been the team MVP all year and Daniel Briere plucked him out of free agency for nothing. Trevor Zegras is bare minimum a top-six center. Christian Dvorak blew his previous career-high in points out of the water and stabilized PHI down the middle. Matvei Michkov is a point-per-game player since mid March and didn't let all that BS railroad his season, hasn't looked better than right now. The 4th line was a joke in the first half and Sean Couturier changed everything with his play. Owen Tippett kept the team going with his heater when they were pretty much dead. NOAH CATES leads the team in points since the break. Travis Sanheim plays half the game. Jamie Drysdale is gonna be a stud defenseman for a long time. There's so much young talent on the wings YOU HAVE to add this offseason and push this thing further. Truly a phenomenal run to end the year. Daniel Briere hasn't had any top five picks, but he's nailed almost everything since inheriting Ron and Chuck's mess. I don't think many people are expecting them to beat Pittsburgh, but it's a winnable series. PHI has the better goalie. They can do this.
