Just witnessed one of the advocates of how virtual events were inclusive starting an invite only series of events for Ivy League alumni and Silicon Valley workers. I am confused.

@tojulius Just because the event isn't open invitation doesn't mean the organiser is not following DEI policy or being inclusive. We should be careful of such insinuations against our fellow #eventprofs and community.

@tojulius Not all virtual events were open to all during the pandemic. Pharma, in-house corporate, family quizzes 🙃 etc. These aren't based on privilege but on job functions, shared interest, relevancy.....
