The wood from the smoke-bush was formerly used to make the yellow dye called young fustic which has now been replaced by synthetic dyes. Here is a beautiful smokebush in the museum garden. On 24th June, 2.30-3.3pm, we have tree hunting for beginners. Call 01684 297174 for info.
