@heitner I never redshirted but played my last year this past season 25-26. Would I get one more year to play but it would have to be this season 26-27?

The NCAA distributed a chart to member schools outlining the implementation scenarios of the 5-year, age-based eligibility concept. It’s clear the NCAA is expecting to adopt the concept for 2026-27. Important: Final waivers under current rules must be submitted by July 31.

@NCAADII The NCAA may have gotten itself into a massive lawsuit.
This ruling questions the fairness and integrity of NCAA eligibility rules.
If we want true fairness, COVID, medical, and redshirt exceptions shouldn’t exist. 5 for 5 is the easy fix.

@NCAADII I played all 4 years in college with no redshirts. Got under-recruited because of COVID, still competed every season. I’m 21 and somehow out of eligibility, while guys who are 26+ are still playing because of waivers? I'm punished for doing it right. That's absolutely crazy.

@NCAADII NCAA fumbled this one, covid, red-shirts, medical shirts, and players getting eligibility extensions from JUCO. I would think granting a player who did it the right way by playing all 4 years with no extra shirts would deserve an extra year of education like everyone else.

@NCAADII if a kid never redshirts/waivers/transfers and is on track to a diploma then sees his/her peers remain in a program 5/6yrs...this seems like an equitable, fair, slamdunk decision to give "5for5"! smh
