A Christian man from the U.S. named Aaron Hutchings traveled to Pakistan to free a family from 140 years in slavery, paying around $4000 for their freedom. The family had remained trapped in bonded labour for generations in Pakistan’s brick kiln industry after an ancestor took a loan in the 1880s. Multi-generational bondage persists in Pakistan despite having been banned in 1992. The system revolves around “peshgi” (advance payments or loans) given by kiln owners to workers, often for emergencies, weddings or illness. Wages are extremely low and owners add high interest, arbitrary fines and manipulated accounts. This makes repayment nearly impossible. Debts are treated as family obligations and passed to children and grandchildren. Children often start working as young as 4-5 to help “repay the debt.” Estimates suggest hundreds of thousands are enslaved in Pakistan’s 20,000+ brick kilns. Pakistan outlawed bonded labour in 1992, but enforcement is extremely weak due to corruption and political influence of kiln owners. Families can’t just pack up and leave without facing severe risks. The system relies on coercion beyond the debt itself. Kiln owners or their jamadars (middlemen) often use armed guards, physical violence, or threats against the worker and remaining family. Family members left behind can be held as hostages. The police frequently collude with owners and escapees may be arrested on false charges, beaten or forcibly returned to the kiln. Workers often lack documents, education, alternative skills or safe places to go. Women and young girls face heightened risks of sexual abuse or forced marriage as “repayment.” Few in Pakistan care about these families. It often takes for Europeans and Americans to come over to help buy families out from slavery. Just like the British Navy waged war against slave traders of all nationalities after 1808, capturing 1600 slave ships and freeing 150 000 slaves.

@thsottiaux If anything, the last few days have shown that once OpenAI inevitably goes full Anthropic (silent model lobotomization & rate limit reduction), people will not only notice, they'll also bring pitchforks. Until then, thx for the reset fam.

Some of you noticed limits drained faster in Codex, we root caused it to an optimization that we rolled back that had an impact on cache hit rates when compacting across long running sessions. We fixed this and have now reset usage limits for all accounts. Enjoy the weekend.

@SpaceTimeViking @YvetteCipher 150 reddit comments, Qwen extracts specific info according to system prompt, outputs to JSON, a script does deterministic cleansing. Output is calibrated against my manual review of the 150 comments (relevance, validity etc). Q6XL passes with 100% accuracy, everything else 94-97%

Appreciate the shoutout! The Qwen3.6-27B model is the first one I hand Abliterated vs relying on other abliterated models. I converged several techniques and hit the kv drift jackpot and it’s now smarter than the OG source model. It no longer has self censorship overhead. github.com/AEON-7/Qwen3.6…

@SpaceTimeViking @YvetteCipher I am running deterministic data extraction and currently only the Q6XL quant passes my established baseline at 100%. Even enabling MTP or going to Q8 will induce drift from the baseline (wrong extractions). Regular tests won't show this, and its not a topic I see mentioned at all

@5low_motion Read up on the way NVFP4 works it’s close to lossless but does take more compute for checksum bit processing. That said Blackwell has hardware tensors to process NVFP4 so it’s actually faster than FP8. More precise than most FP8 quants.

$AMD will likely set another all time high closing today. I get many questions about whether it’s overvalued now. Simple answer is: no It’s in the ballpark of fair value. Let’s do some quick back-of-the envelope math: - $UBS sees server CPU market at $170 billion in 2030. Assuming 75% of it will be x86 and $AMD will have 50% revenue share in x86 CPUs, we are looking at $64 billion revenue from this segment alone. - $GS sees AI data center capex at $1 trillion in 2030. 70% of the capex will go to accelerators. Assuming 15-85 allocation between ASICs and GPUs and 10% GPU market share for $AMD, we are looking at another $60 billion revenue from this segment. In total, we are looking at $124 billion data center revenue in 2030. Assuming 35% net margin and 25x exit multiple, we are looking at $1.1 trillion company. Discounting it to today at 10% annual rate gives us $736 billion company. This is excluding the non-data center businesses. The whole company is currently valued at $767 billion. So, we are just around fair value and you should never sell exceptional businesses at fair value because they tend to surprise on the upside. Long $AMD

BREAKING! Qwopus 3.6 27B is LIVE! Thank you for your patience on this one, but I believe you'll find the wait was worth it! We've benchmarked this thing up and down, verified that it holds at least a 75.25% (152/202) in the initial 202 SWE bench solves. Not a full run of 500, but it shows the agentic coding quality from the original 27B is retained while adding all of the additional Qwopus benefits across many domains. As always, Jackrong is absolutely cooking here! COT quality has improved significantly through the inversion techniques from our Negentropy proof of concept. It also went through thorough curriculum training. You can check out the MMLU pro benchmarks on the model card, but it improved a whopping 10 points over the base model in physics, as well as meaningful jumps in Chemistry, business, and computer science. However, the best part is that I was able to build an entire survival shooter game using this local model entirely. I genuinely was blown away by the results, which you can play right now on my HF space (link in comments below). "Qwopus Commander" was completed in 9 turns of Qwopus 3.6! To test the new long context training, I made it re-output the entire 3000+ line program each turn, and it would make fixes and add features that I requested in large prompts, while perfectly replicating the entire rest of the game from context. What's more is that I did it all at Q8 KV cache quantization, and never had an issue over the entire 303k token run! IMPORTANT: Run it at --temp 0.75 to 1. Mess with it in that range for your use case. Higher temp actually lets the fine-tune shine and be exploratory and is also more stable. Swe Bench was run at temp 1, the game was built mostly at 0.8! We're so blessed to have all of you here and using the models! The support means so much! Please let me know what you build with it in the comments! Or if you have any issues getting it up and running, I will try my best to get back to you! Looking forward to seeing what you legends produce with it this weekend! huggingface.co/Jackrong/Qwopu…

I will tell you what happened. You are not allowed to defend yourself against attackers. It makes no sense to have a survival game in which you cant defend yourself. People dont want to run away from attackers in survival games, people want to be able to fight their attackers to defend themselves. If you are not allowed to defend yourself against an attacking entity in a survival game, than your game is woke and is teaching suicidal empathy. This game is going to flop on full release. Non-buy-nary.
