Day 4- Talon Haley: in depth Angels prospect report A high upside prep lefty the Angels went well over slot to sign in the 2025 draft. Haley is a long term development play, but one of the highest-ceiling arms in the system. Arsenal: • Fastball: 91–94 mph, touches 97, good ride and arm side life • Curveball: sharp power breaker, true swing-and-miss pitch • Slider: firm with tilt, flashes above-average • Changeup: developing fourth pitch, shows feel Scouting grades (20–80): FB 55 | CB 60 | SL 55 | CH 50 | Control 50 | Overall 45 Why he works: Big arm talent, athletic delivery, and real pitch depth for a teenage pitcher. Dominated high school hitters (5–0, 0.55 ERA, 81 Ks in 38 IP) and has the type of raw stuff teams bet on despite the risk. MLB comp: James Paxton: power lefty starter traits, wins with velocity and a big breaking ball. Health will determine how far the upside goes. Projection: Legitimate starter upside if everything comes together. Ceiling looks like a High end arm with impact stuff. ETA: 2029 Risk: very high, as expected with prep pitching prospects This is a swing for serious upside.
