Last night the Scouts enjoyed making a splash at #liquidleisure. It was lovely to see all the Scouts staying together as they went round the course - great teamwork in the water bodes well for raft-building next week!

This weekend saw 8 Thursday Scouts complete their Expedition badge. They did an amazing job considering the heat, working well as a team, helping each other, cooking & chatted together for hours afterwards. They were a joy to have with us, and they should all be very proud!

A huuuuge turnout for Fleet's #Coronation parade! Well done to all the #Beavers #Cubs and #Scouts who took part, and many thanks to all the good people of Fleet who packed both sides of the roads and cheered us on.

Our Cubs & Scouts have started undercoating two sides of the Ancell’s Farm pavilion ready for a mural to be applied later in May. The mural will also feature art produced by our Beavers. Huge thanks to @bandq_uk and @travisperkinsco who donated/discounted materials and paint.

Last night, a small but perfectly formed selection of #Scouts braved the torrential rain to build shelters, try out Swedish torches, and invest Mia. She's only recently joined us and was the last person to be invested into Thursday Scouts before moving to Explorers in September.

On Thursday evening, the #Scouts braved the rain and successfully navigated their way through the woods to Bourley Lakes. Despite increasingly soggy maps, they kept up a good pace, made very few wrong turns, and remained in excellent sprits the whole time. Commendable!

Last night, the Scouts cycled the tracks around Hawley Lake. We covered nearly 7mi learning about how to ride on mud, sand & gravel. We talked about the importance of the right gear for stopping, starting and climbing. Well done to Mia who saved her puncture for the last 100m!

Last night the Scouts tried their hands at light engineering: an #eggdrop challenge; and some marshmallow and spaghetti towers. The results were messy, sticky but quite impressive.

Last night, the Scouts navigated around Quetta Park & Ewshot using a selection of #what3words addresses. It's the only way to get round Naishes Lane SANG in the dark, because the paths are mud, are not yet marked on any OS map.

They've stopped for breakfast @CostaCoffee in #Pangbourne - say hi if you see them!

Last night, the Scouts braved the cold to put Fleet to the 2022 chip shop challenge: 3 teams, 6 shops, 6 categories of the harshest VAR-free judging, but only 1 winner. Congratulations to @HartPeriPeri, who served up the most talked-about🍟of the evening – cheesy peri fries.

I’m delighted to report that we collected £529 at the Hart Centre this year, helping bring Fleet’s poppy appeal collection up 16% to a record total of £61,200. Many thanks to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders who helped out, and thank you to everyone who donated.

Last night, the #Scouts learned about #Thanksgiving - the Pilgrims, their food, helping other people, and why they drank beer instead of water. They also cooked apple pies, and promptly covered them in squirty cream.
