Rising sophomore post Christian Brown announces he's leaving JMU after his freshman season. That's a tough one for the Dukes, even going back to the fall JMU staffers thought he might stay long term in part because of his academic aspirations.

Notable: A new proposal by the FBS oversight committee would allow FCS-FBS transition teams to be eligible for bowl games right away at 6-6, rather than having to wait a year or two. Would apply for NDSU and Sac State if advanced and approved in the summer.
