My advice to Muslim lawyers of man-made law: Just because you have a secular degree in man-made law, that doesn't make you an expert in Islamic law; no more than being an expert cobbler makes you a professional roofer. Don't turn your law firm into a center for managing matters pertaining to Islamic law just because you have a few Muftis on speed dial. For the Muslims going to man-made law experts for Islamic matters: Ask for Islamic qualifications from lawyers and solicitors who offer to process your cases for a fee. You wouldn't trust an unlicensed man-made law practitioner, so why do you trust someone unqualified in Islamic law? You're better off patronizing actual Muftis and Islamic law experts instead of paying the middle men in the situation.
