One thing I don't get: Selection committee docks teams based on injuries, because they're evaluating what the teams will be in the actual tournament. So, then, shouldn't we weigh more heavily how a team is playing heading into the dance?

It's important for not just the Big East, but all of college basketball, that St. John's does well in the Big Dance. The more non-football schools that make deep runs, the harder it will be for the P4 to break away and stage a legitimate national championship tournament.
