@Benjwinst Stop crying it in. Been relegation fodder for the last 4 years with a squad that’s been underinvested in. It was always going to take a couple of years to get moving in the right direction

TFG, Angus Kinnear and co need to set high standards and genuinely show some ambition now. Stagnation and treading water won’t take our club to where the fans want us to be. Pragmatic forward thinking approach, proactive not reactive planning. Over to you now to set the tone 🔵

🗣️Will have a Bank Holiday Bine out late morning/lunchtime with @Paddy_Boyland today. If you have any strong thoughts on the season/players/manager would be good to get them on here. Or on evertonbyline@gmail.com for anything longer form. Will read a few out #EFC

@Benjwinst They can’t spend loads of money on transfers due to the financial rules so it’s going to take time. This squad has seriously under invested in for 3/4 years. That defence alone needs at least £100 million to bring it up to speed

People are frustrated and disappointed ( me included ) with everything Everton. Upto the new owners to change that mentality and subsequently change the mentality of a suffering fanbase, any successful business has strong and ambitious leadership.

@elpivoteftbl I can appreciate that but for me just do whatever it takes to win something. Then worry about rebuilding the side. If we have to wait another 30 odd years then so be it.

Average age of Villa’s starting lineup is 29.2 years old. They have had relatively poor transfer windows under Emery with the odd huge success (Rogers) but unless they start getting it right this cycle will end very quickly.

@elpivoteftbl I just don’t see any clubs outside of the “top 5” ever having a sustained period of success. Got to take your opportunity when it arises and make the most of it.

@PED7 @ToffeeTVEFC Can imagine how well those talks will go. We’ve got a fan base who want top6. The club has been circling the drain for years oh and Mykolenko and Keane are still first choice.

If the manager is available that fits with the clubs strategy, plans, philosophy, recruitment for years to come you make the change this summer. I really hope they get it right, today like all season I really don’t see any sort of plan going forward. Include TFG in that aswell.

Lots to chew over in @AndyBurnhamGM itv i/v. Has worked out his big message, (Westminster doesn’t work, I’ve shown a different way can) and potential weak spots (eg markets/fiscal rules). Avoids really going for Farage as a way of showing respect to his supporters. Long term commitment on PR. Vaguer on EU rejoin. Solid on scrapping VAR!! Good manner, lots of passion (though over use of “not point scoring!” V interesting (and sensible) choice of first interviewer given @DanielHewittITV track record on serious policy choices esp housing.

@greenallefc @Benjwinst The manager has a track record of building and improving sides. Just over 12 months ago we were heading to another relegation battle now we are potentially a couple of wins away from Europe with the likes of mykolenko and Keane still playing most weeks.

@DaleJohnsonBBC @pbsportswriter Based on what? A possible foul on the goalkeeper? At what stage do you stop looking at the “incident”. There was definite fouls going on by Arsenal players too. Whole thing is a complete shambles. Feel got westham fans not a chance that given if it’s the other way around

Imagine being Darren England at that moment. The pressure to get the decision right as the VAR must have been immense. Monumental decision at both ends of the table - and the right one.

@RyanSoccerAA There’s been plenty of examples of players who have took a year to settle and not played much in their first season, it’s nothing new. Especially in Rohls case it’s the position we have the most depth in. Theres hardly any players TB ages playing regular minutes in the PL

I would dig out all the quotes over the years from top managers saying how the most important thing for youth development is meaningful minutes, game in game out, in difficult environments, but this is such a common viewpoint at this point I would be wasting my time.

🗣️David Moyes on Merlin Röhl & Tyler Dibling: “Merlin, we like, Tyler, we like. Tyler, we're giving more time to because of his age. “Merlin could have easily been involved in some more games and played a little bit more time. “It'll do him no harm to have sat back for the best part of the season and looked at it. No, we like them, they're both good boys.” (Via @LivEchoEFC)

@Refsplaining @Bjarne147 It’s not evidence is it? It’s like saying Dermot on ref watch agreed with the VAR decision. Without wanting to sound like Roy Keane, that’s why they are employed. It’s their job to do that.

@Bjarne147 I didn't defend anything, just pointed to the nearest we have to evidence rather than supposition. I don't agree with all the verdicts, but this is how referees are judged officially, so everyone may as well know these outcomes

There have been five refereeing errors in Everton matches according to the PL’s independent panel, which comprises four ex-players and one ref. Everton benefited from four, against Wolves (a), Villa (a), Arsenal (a) and Chelsea (h) 1/2
