Banks can freeze accounts, reverse transactions and shut down systems during attacks. The centralization actually helps when it comes to being hacked. The main attraction to btc will also become the “flaw” that quantum computing can expose. No central authority, no transaction reversal and no freeze.

🚨BREAKING: GOOGLE WARNS 6.9M BITCOIN WILL BE VULNERABLE WHEN QUANTUM COMPUTERS BECOME POWERFUL ENOUGH A new Google Quantum AI whitepaper has identified approximately 6.9 million Bitcoin $BTC vulnerable to future quantum at-rest attacks. Around 1.7 million BTC sits in old Pay-to-Public-Key scripts, with public keys permanently exposed on the blockchain. This includes coins widely believed to belong to Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto. No quantum computer powerful enough to exploit this exists today. But the paper warns that when one does, these dormant assets require no transaction to be broadcast — a future attacker could simply derive the private key silently from public data. The research team revealed that a superconducting quantum computer could derive a Bitcoin private key in approximately 9 minutes — just inside Bitcoin's average 10-minute block time. Google warns the coins represent a "fixed, multibillion-dollar target" if protocol changes are not made in time. The paper proposes governments consider legal frameworks for "digital salvage," treating dormant quantum-vulnerable coins similarly to unclaimed sunken treasure, to prevent them falling to rogue states or criminal actors first.

The white paper Google released today is not just about Bitcoin. It shows encryption used in every system today like banks, military, and the internet is at risk.

Trust. It's earned. Litecoin has spent nearly 15 years earning mine. There has definitely been ups and downs, but never a moment where I doubted I could send money, that a retailer accepting crypto would take $LTC, or that when privacy mattered, I had a way to protect it.

🚨 The quantum threat to Bitcoin just got MUCH closer. We're talking as soon as a year or few. A decade ago, breaking RSA-2048 or P-256 (what Bitcoin uses) required ~1 billion physical qubits. Today? As few as 10,000 qubits. That's not a typo. A new paper just dropped from Oratomic, a neutral atom startup. Co-author: John Preskill, one of the greatest quantum theorists alive. The breakthrough is high-rate quantum error correction + neutral atom architecture = dramatically fewer physical qubits. 10,000 reconfigurable atomic qubits. That’s all you need. Researchers have demonstrated neutral atom arrays of up to 6,000 already. How much longer will the bitcoin community play with fire?!

@Cointelegraph Google just proved Bitcoin isn’t safe. 9 minutes to crack a private key? That’s game over for crypto. Gold is the only asset that can’t be hacked, can’t be cracked, and can’t be taken away. The choice is obvious.

🚨 BIG: Google research shows a future quantum computer could crack Bitcoin's private keys in just 9 mins, 1 min short of Bitcoin's average block time. The research warns mempool attacks could become a real threat, urging immediate migration to post-quantum cryptography.

⚠️GOOGLE SAYS A QUANTUM ATTACK ON BITCOIN TAKES JUST 9 MINS WITH A 41% SUCCESS RATE Google's quantum team now says cracking Bitcoin may require less than 500K qubits, far below the “millions” once assumed. Research suggests an attack could take 9mins, faster than a typical 10-min block confirmation, giving a 41% success rate. Google now flags 2029 as a key deadline to upgrade Bitcoin’s cryptography before quantum becomes a real threat.

🚨BIG WARNING: GOOGLE JUST SHOWED THE WORLD HOW TO HACK EVERY CRYPTO WALLET!!! They dropped a whitepaper today with the exact numbers. How many qubits, how many operations, how long it takes. The answer? Minutes. Not years. Minutes. Everyone thought cracking crypto would need millions of qubits. Google just said nah, 500,000 is enough. That's a 20x reduction from what we all assumed. And they didn't even publish the full circuits. The method is so dangerous they used zero-knowledge proofs to basically say "trust us, we have the recipe" without leaking it. Read that again. Google themselves thought it was too risky to share openly. Now here's what nobody is talking about. Satoshi's wallets. Old dormant addresses. Millions of wallets with public keys just out there in the open. That's a multi-billion dollar honeypot waiting for whoever builds this machine first. Google is already working with Coinbase, Ethereum Foundation, and Stanford to shift everything to quantum-proof cryptography. The deadline they set? 2029. That's three years away. 2029 sounds far until it isn't. The best projects are already working on this. Pay attention to which ones.

‼️ALERT: ETHEREUM'S TOP 1,000 WALLETS COULD BE DRAINED IN NINE DAYS WITHOUT A QUANTUM UPGRADE Google's quantum research team warns that a future fast-clock quantum computer could compromise Ethereum's 1,000 highest-value accounts in less than nine days. Those accounts collectively hold approximately 20.5 million $ETH. Bitcoin users can avoid exposing their public keys. Ethereum users cannot. The moment an Ethereum user sends their first transaction, their public key is permanently exposed on the blockchain, according to the report. It stays exposed indefinitely. The paper identifies five distinct quantum attack vectors on Ethereum. Among the most alarming is the threat to smart contract admin keys. Those keys control over $200 billion in stablecoins and tokenised real-world assets. Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism also relies on quantum-vulnerable BLS signatures. A sufficiently advanced quantum attacker could use this to compromise the blockchain's finality itself. There is a silver lining. The Ethereum Foundation is already researching post-quantum alternatives. The paper suggests this gives Ethereum a potential advantage over Bitcoin in executing an orderly transition to quantum-safe cryptography.
