Here’s the three main ways to get sync placements. I’ve gotten placements with companies like Pixar, Six Flags, Oreos, and hundreds of others + I own a publishing company Elizabeth Music Group where we have a whole sync department and our roster has worked with Netflix, BET, The NFL, and more. Way 1) Make a song that organically connects with brands. This is a bit of winning the lottery but can be valuable if you get a hit. Way 2) Pitch your music to a sync library or work with a publisher. These companies will pitch your music to brands/brands come to these companies to access their library of songs. Biggest advice with this - you should NEVER pay to submit your music. Way 3) Build direct relationships with sync supervisors. Be genuine, connect with people early and provide so much value without answering for anything in return. Over time, that value makes you hard to ignore and the sync supervisor will keep you top of mind for opportunities.
