2026 Spring Rainfall Forecast calls for "Drier to Much Drier" conditions from the Central Plains to the Pacific Northwest. The East Coast is forecast to be "Above Average to Wet". For SE Florida, chances will hover between 30% - 50%. April may be dry, leading to grass fire threat

The 2026 Spring Outlook calls for much "Warmer than Average" temps out West, "Near Typical" by the Northern Plains, & "Typical" by the Upper Midwest thru the Northeast. FL will remain w above average readings hovering in the 80s.

Spring Forecast: The yellow areas indicate where gusty winds will be found. The should move onshore throughout the day. That same wind could push a few showers along the Coast on Friday, but by Saturday we'll see plenty of sun with mostly dry conditions.

Thursday is the last day of Winter. A few showers are possible on Friday, the 1st day of Spring, but the weekend is looking great!

Stalled front over the NW Bahamas & Central Cuba will keep So FL under a chance for showers Thursday. Winds will remain strong behind the front with gusts into the 30 mph range. Improvement by Friday.

Winds will remain out of the NE tonight behind a front, and out of the SE in front of it. Where the winds meet up, they squeeze additional moisture out of the atmosphere. This will bring us additional light rain/drizzle along the Coast & Keys. More is possible Thursday.

Its been a slow steady drizzle much of the day across many coastal communities. These are the 24 hours rain totals for South Florida. A few more showers Thursday & Friday before things improve for the weekend.

7 pm Update: Drizzle to light rainfall across both counties. This lingering activity will remain thru late this Wednesday evening.

It was a cool day across SE Florida. Ft. Lauderdale's high temp only reached 69°. This ties the record for coldest high on this date. @NWSMiami will confirm later tonight or tomorrow. Warmer for Thursday.

SE FL's lows will continue to warm up in the days ahead. The average date of the last below 60° is April 14th. In 2025 it happened in mid March.

Spring kicks off this Friday morning. Over 12 hours of daylight for South Florida. It will be a drier, milder day across the area.

Things will be changing over the next few days for So. Florida. Rain should start waning after tonight. Thursday will be a bit brighter, with just a few showers. Friday (the start of Spring) looking much nicer. It'll set us up for a beautiful first weekend of the new season.
