When Muhammad approached the Jews, he expected recognition. He thought they would welcome him as a prophet in their tradition. Instead, they rejected him and called him a fraud. The Christians did the same. That rejection was a personal blow, and Islam, as we know it today, was built as a response to that rejection. Muhammad didn’t walk away, he retaliated. He wrote that vengeance into the Qur’an. The early tolerance disappeared. What followed was a doctrine shaped by bitterness. The rejection he faced was repackaged as divine wrath, and his personal humiliation became a system of permanent hostility. This is why the Qur’an’s later verses are filled with contempt toward Jews and Christians. They weren’t just theological opponents, they were the ones who wounded Muhammad’s pride. That wound became doctrine, and that doctrine became the foundation of Islamic civilization. This is also why Islamic movements don’t focus on converting or dominating forgotten corners of the world. There’s nothing to prove in poor, weak nations. There’s no historic slight to avenge. But the West? Israel? Christianity? These represent the very people and cultures that denied Muhammad legitimacy. Those are the civilizations whose success is an existential insult to Islam’s claim of divine perfection. Their ongoing success is a constant reminder that his message was rejected, and that his claim to divine authority was never universally accepted. Islam’s expansion into the West is about rewriting the historical outcome. It’s about making Muhammad win where he once lost, even if it takes centuries. Islamizing the West would be, in the minds of many Muslims, the ultimate vindication of their prophet. A retroactive victory. A reversal of the original insult.
