While today’s outcome wasn’t what we wanted, I am so incredibly proud of this team and all that was accomplished this year at Valdosta State. When we took over in 2022, we knew it was going to be a challenge but we embraced it. My goal was to leave this place better than we found it. For us, it’s all about changing lives through the game of football, and I can confidently say we achieved that.
I asked the VSU administration weeks ago to secure a long term plan for success for our program and we could not reach an agreement on what that would look like. That being said, we’ve accepted another coaching opportunity that we couldn’t pass up.
I appreciate so many people who believed in us along the way, but it started with former director of athletics Herb Reinhard. He coached me for two years and is still coaching me. He’s showed me so much that I thought I knew but I didn’t know. I am forever grateful to him for taking a chance on me and for allowing me to grow as a head coach.
Valdosta State will be back here in the national championship game, and I look forward to cheering them on!!
As always … Go Blazers!
