It was a beautiful windy morning out at Kaloko today. The breeze is so appreciated as the days get hotter sooner. Pushing back as per usual against the buffle and guinea grasses, and enjoying the growth of native species that are popping up.

Big Mahalo to today's stellar stewards! A variety of activities today. Some marine debris was washed up along with land rubbish so some of us picked those up. Then we tackled invasives, most of the team meticulously working around native plants to remove invasive grasses.

The invasive plants are certainly loving all this rain! The explosion of tomatoes and bittermelon has not taken over many smaller outplantings. This extra weight from the climbing vines has also taken a toll on some of our smaller native outplantings.

Another beautiful day in Hawaiʻi Nei. Mahalo nui kākou for a great afternoon of service to a critical ecosystem. Following the recent rain event, alot of items washed ashore. We saw large bulky items, and many smaller bits of trash as well.

A beautiful Saturday morning and Big Mahalo to today's stellar stewards! It's great to see the space looking cleaner than it has in past events. But at the same time, the stream may have been flushed of rubbish from the rains last night.

A windy day in Waimānalo, and it felt great. We started in Piko, bringing together folks who volunteered to come out, teaching a mele of love for Waimānalo. We talked about the cultural history of Waimānalo and the pathways of learning that this space creates for all.
